I’m late to the party, but I just want to say that this season is the main reason why I’m a big TLOK hater. It destroys the mystery and wonder of the original avatar concept. The Raava and Wan backstory answers questions that we never asked about the avatar cycle. I liked not knowing the origin of it. And then they end the season by destroying Korra’s connection to the past avatars? Ugh

2025-06-01 01:44:45 +0000 UTCThe YouTuber HELLO FUTURE ME did a whole rewrite adaptation for each season, but bound by amount of episodes and the overarching story line. I really recommend watching it!

2024-11-30 20:04:26 +0000 UTCAn ok season for me, probably the weakest.. Too many heavily convenient and inexplicable plot developments at the end. The reason I tend to be dissatisfied with LOK is simply due to S1 and S2. Anyway, looking forward to what's coming! What lies ahead is arguably the best of both series, ATLA and LOK.

2024-11-19 18:44:38 +0000 UTCLOL, the next Avatar sits and meditates and Korra shows up...she is asked for her advice, and her reply is...."Whatever your problem is, just throw a fireball at it. it usually made things worse, but it made me feel better!"

2024-11-19 02:23:18 +0000 UTCFinally! I've waited for book 2 to finish...I agree that Book 2 has such a "finality" to it that perhaps it would've made a good series climax. I enjoyed this book, however I agree that the pacing was wonky....and although I see the writers' intent with cutting ties with the old avatars to forge ahead...I personally didn't like that. Korra now starts a brand new cycle of avatars. -now then....this season has been set up all they way from Book 2 of ATLA! the Guru episode with the Chakras. The Guru had to teach Aang to unlock the "avatar state" by unblocking his chakras. Essentially, Aang was "spiritually" in turmoil and that was preventing him from being in total alignment with himself and his spirit. He gruels through the 7 chakras with the guru and finally, he meets his own spiritual self up in space on the rainbow bridge...(but then he gets a vision of Katara in danger and abandons it). We see this same imagery in this Korra book 2 finale...Korra sits in the Tree of Time and meets her own spiritual self up in space on the rainbow bridge. Because her body is already in the spirit world, she can still separate her spirit from her body (Like Jinora was in the spirit world separated from her body) and because the portals were open, her spirit could leave the spirit world and enter the physical world. Jinora's little light show was simply to illuminate the light inside UnaVaatu so Korra could grab it and pull it out. -Remember that one of the Chakra's is in the center of the forehead. that is where the lion turtles, Aang, and Amon touch you to either give you bending, or block bending. they are essentially bending your spirit which allows you to tap into the bending elements/or block the bending elements. The lion turtle said in ATLA series finale, that "before bending, we bent not the elements, but the energy inside." AKA your spirit.

2024-11-17 13:45:03 +0000 UTCimagine you become the avatar and the only past life avatar is korra 😭

2024-11-17 11:24:26 +0000 UTCi honestly dont hate the way this season ended, but i really wish there was more setup and explanation to the obvious points of confusion like kaiju korra and floating spirit jinora.

2024-11-17 10:04:37 +0000 UTCCongratulations, you can now move to the good seasons of Korra. The next one especially, is exceptional.

2024-11-16 12:53:04 +0000 UTCThis is the way I always understood things, I could be wrong but hope it helps. Back when Aang was with the guru, he tried to connect to the cosmic energy of the universe, like great monks had done before, but couldn't because he was the avatar and his duty was to the earth (mentioned by avatar yang-chen in the finale episodes). That was the scene with Aang walking towards the giant floating Aang and he fell when we saw that Katara was in trouble in Ba-Sing Se. However, since Korra was no longer the avatar in that moment, she WAS able to detach and connect with the cosmic energy, becoming the giant blue spirit. She also walked toward a giant floating version of herself, mirroring that with Aang.

2024-11-16 04:02:46 +0000 UTCI hate this ending so much - this show is at its best when it's showcasing creative bending in its fights. This season ended with a blue giant and a red giant shooting chest beams at each other. Best season is next though!

2024-11-16 02:57:26 +0000 UTCSo glad you got through season 2! It really is the weakest season, with the least interesting villain imo. season 3 is the GOAT!

2024-11-16 00:53:45 +0000 UTCYeah, no romance at all…

2024-11-16 00:13:27 +0000 UTCNever mind the next episode already explained it 😅

2024-11-15 23:14:52 +0000 UTCi was happy to see you guys enjoy the finale! honestly most of the way this is wrapped up doesn't really do it for me—so many ex machine moments and unalaq is just such a bland villainy villain doing villain things because villain. romance continues to play a part in the series moving forward, but won't be frustrating the way it is the first two seasons. can't wait for season 3!!

2024-11-15 22:27:49 +0000 UTCThe bad love triangle stuff is finally over you can breathe now lol. Time for the best season
Amit
2024-11-15 21:51:41 +0000 UTCAnd yes you were right, she did cut off the connection to the past avatars, that cycle ended. However, she has created a new cycle where she is now the first avatar in this cycle.

2024-11-15 20:34:24 +0000 UTCSeason 3 is the best season, I personally like it more than all of Korra, and just slightly more than the ATLA series. Mainly because of the villain.

2024-11-15 19:11:48 +0000 UTCI'd like to point out that while Korra is currently fighting for her fucking life, as pointed out earlier this series, Aang has only ever shown up for his favorite kid. 😭
Amir Shipp
2024-11-15 19:09:29 +0000 UTCDon't worry at all. Season 3 is the best one for a reason, theres literally no romance in korra's life there so u will be fine.
deny
2024-11-15 17:57:44 +0000 UTCThe line where is says "we bent not the elements but the energy within ourselves" that is what the lion turtle said to aang whenever he helped aang learned how to energybend back in the book 3 finale
Maya Coleman
2024-11-15 16:08:57 +0000 UTCAnd whenever all the avatars were disappearing it meant that korra has lost her connection to her past lives which means that the next avatar after korra won't be able to seek advice from the past avatars so she basically lost the entire avatar lineage
Maya Coleman
2024-11-15 15:28:25 +0000 UTCI think you guys are confused first of all that really was aang but he just aged and the reason why he changed into tenzin is because he wanted tenzin to realize that he doesn't have to be a copy of him and that he has to be his own person
Maya Coleman
2024-11-15 15:25:26 +0000 UTCA little fun fact Mike and Bryan the creators of Avatar did a interview once book 2 ended, and they know people weren't feeling the love triangle, and so they decided to do away with it. With that being said I love this book, but book 3 and 4 take the cake. They are amazing. I know some may not like it but Unalaq severing Korra's connection to the past Avatar's does wonders for her character development.
