in japanese it's kurohige and shirohige which they translate to blackbeard and whitebeard. the word kuro and shiro are black and white while hige means facial hair. so technically it's black facial hair and white facial hair. it just doesn't sound as cool so they translated it that way

Even in the Japanise version the pronunciation sounds the same as if it was done by one from Spain, you can look it up if you feel it necesary. As a Spanish guy I had to say that I did find funny your first attempt at the name Ange, was hilarious, but I understand the dificulty with the pronunciation of Donquixote.

Then we get revealed that they were in fact looking for a 100millon bounty at least to get into "the high" leagues.

Also Shanks went to Whitebeard because Whitebeard don’t like letters, and Shanks wrote there smth about “Ace and Blackbeard”, that is interesting.

Luffy gauges how strong some characters are, especially when he thinks they're much weaker, by tanking some hits or dodging without attacking. He could tell Bellamy had no chance so he heard him out and then dealt with him. It's like a small nod to the bar scene with Luffy and Zoro where they refuse to fight back because they could fart and kill those guys.

Usopp is having Chopper hand him planks (ita) and nails (kugi), but when Usopp is given a plank and goes to nail it to the ship he hits his finger and says ouch! (ita) whereby Chopper hands him another plank. (Yes, I am very fun at parties)

There are specific words for beard and moustache, but the ones used for Blackbeard (Kuro*hige*) and Whitebeard (Shiro*hige*) has these words attached to it in the dictionary: 1. moustache; mustache; beard; whiskers; sideburns. But it translates into beard because of the famous pirate names. (Blackbeard is also used in Pirates of the Caribbean. In Japanese there are usually many ways to say the same thing and many words with many wildly different meanings. A good example for this arc is "kami" which means paper, god, and hair. I don't know about other mangaka, but Oda really likes puns and wordplay, and people will often have a conversation where one person is talking with one word in mind and the other has a completely different one. It usually doesn't translate well so many of the clever plays on words are lost to us without the proper knowledge.

It’s fun when later on you find out whether you are right or not. Regarding Blackbeard not having a beard. In Japanese, his name is “Kurohige”, which literally means “black facial hair”. Since in the English version it wouldn’t have sounded cool at all, they decided to translate it with the closest cool word.

Haki is just the japanese word for it and that's also what is written in the subtitles of other languages. Just something I think you guys missed.
