I believe the authors were trying their best to undermine Mako in order to make other characters seem better in comparison, which is a poor writing decision. Though he wasn't a perfect person, it's logically inconsistent for him to lie to Korra in front of not only Asami but also Lin and others who witnessed their breakup.

Also I do think that she realized the bigger issues at play at this moments and decides not to confront Mako right when they're supposed to be saving the world

2024-11-11 01:42:56 +0000 UTCSpoiler Your saying they didnt have character development do you know how long season 1-2 is apart its only about 2 months so how do you expect them to change who they are and there whole personality in 2 months they do change definitely in the next season when more times passes by and there aboento actually take time and reflect on there actions Did we not watch the show season 3 mako went form being a play boy who was always thinking if himself when it came to women to not wanting anything to do with women and focusing on himself and his job and trying to actually voice his oppinoions bc as we know mako was not good at telling people things we see this in the first episode of season 3 when he actually speaks out and says its uncomfortable. Korra learnt to be more open and less aggressive and communicate better with people we see this alot when she talking to asami and instead of get jealousy or looking at her weird she's able to take in things more Asami it it help her to stop relying on her boyfriend as a crutch she used mako as a distraction from her father who was in prison and the fact that she can't handle anything she fall right back into makos arms which is sighn of her needing the affection of him The only one it didn't change was bolin bolin is going to stay bolin so you can't even say it didn't

2024-11-10 14:36:36 +0000 UTCDoes it makes sense? Yes. Does it have any narrative purpose? Not really. It's just there because they thought it should, and it shows. The show doesn't use the romance plot for anything other than drama for drama's sake. You can't even say they use it for character development since the characters keep making the same mistakes regarding their relationships. I don't think it ruins the show at all, but you could remove all the romance from the first and second seasons with almost no detriment to the story.

Korra has amnesia and Asami is just done with it, based on her face

2024-11-08 16:35:55 +0000 UTCThe romance is not even that bad yes its annoying but its not even bad it don't even ruin the show at all it's makes perfect sense for Korra to not be good with relationships she's been locked up in a place for 16 years of her life asami is not fine with it mako is a young kid who has always been a ladys men who gets into trouble with not expressing himself with women
