All those "new" characters that were showcased in the desert, from whom the birds were stealing from, were all part of filler episodes during the Alabasta arc that were skipped. It was just a montage to show what those characters were up to at the moment when the arc wrapped. And no, you wont be seeing those characters in the next arc.

2024-10-31 03:15:41 +0000 UTCPell being alive is in my opinion the biggest mistake in One Piece (not caught up, so there could be something worse in the 900+, I don't know and don't want to.) With that said, it is not a terrible thing to have this as the worst mistake, sure it takes away from the character story and the impact of his actions, but overall I would not say it has a big impact on the whole. (That said he is a falcon, and real life falcons can dive at 390km/h, and this is not a depiction of reality or even our world, so there is something there that could explain, but it is very weak.) Not having Bon Clay on your crew is a travesty! They sacrificed their ship and freedom to help the Strawhats gain a few precious minutes, at least keep Bon Clay in for a few episodes to show respect.

One thing ODA said: the Strawhats dont have to kill ppl, instead by defeating opponents they crush their dreams which is worse than death. (Does not mean there is no body count, some strawhats have killed before joining like Robin and Zoro, the live action made that more prominent than the anime) that being said, Robin said her dream was dead, meaning she is right now in a state worse than death... (her tears in this episode get me everytime) Oda said, that he cant always focus on topics he would like to discuss bc they wouldnt be appropriate for the shonen jump magazin where one piece manga is published, but he is doing it anyway by leaving hints, so you can find deeper topics between the lines if you want to, and you dont have to think about them if you dont want to, making one piece very layered and interesting for different kinds of readers. If you want to, keep an eye out for this stuff, its worth it IMO.

I suspect there are two reasons for it: I think he genuinely loves the world, and it actually hurts him to fully kill off a character, but I also believe that he does like to keep characters alive because he can bring them back and utilize them in the story later on.

2024-10-30 17:42:47 +0000 UTCA theory that convinced me the most for Pell’s return is to allow Mr.2 and Robin to be forgiven. Plus, simply miscommunication between author and editor. If you read every extra pages in manga you know there is special relationship between them and realize editors have a lot more of say then you imagined in terms of design of characters and even story. Im just saying it’s not impossible that they had a disagreement until the deadline of the release.

2024-10-30 16:28:35 +0000 UTCyeah, when i started watching op the fake deaths were one of my biggest issues with the show but i promise you'll get used to it, something that helped me accepting it was oda's reasoning on it, when a big battle finally ends, he always throws a big party to celebrate it and according to him, if someone dies it's impossible to have an enjoyable party afterward, to me that's valid, and those are my favorite moments in op, just watching them eat and enjoy themselves always warms my heart. VIVI, KAROO AND BON CLAY ARE STRAW HATS IDC WHAT ANYONE SAYS!! my dearest bon chan, he's in my top fave op characters lmao, vivi too, the straw hats show their love for each other in lowkey aggressive ways lol, but the way vivi shows love is very gentle, so she always added such good vibes to their dynamic, specially with nami... don't get me started on those two cause i could write a frikin bible explaining how much i ADORE THEM. i agree ange, i prefer drum island over alabasta too but both of them are very well written, and the next arc... to me is the most underrated arc in op, i don't want to hype it too much because the pacing gets a lil frustrating at some point but to me it's one of OP's masterpieces!! i'm beyond excited, and i always knew this would be one of your favorite shows! you're already some of my favorite one piece reactors♡ oh and carlie, being a luffy girlie is such a green flag haha

So is Bon-chan for being a nakama! Robin is confirmed the 7th Straw Hat member (that's why you were warned about the title of the episode), and Vivi & Karoo are honorary Straw Hat members. Can't wait for you guys to know Robin more. Pell's fake death is frowned upon the community, but there were rumors that Oda did that because the 9/11 incident happened during the time. NOT confirmed tho. Can't wait for Ange to cover OP3! Hikari e is one of my favorite One Piece OP.

2024-10-30 15:05:59 +0000 UTCApparently, according to Reddit, the reason Pell was brought back is because that manga chapter was released right around 9/11. Oda didn’t feel right about having a beloved character die via explosion after it happened, so he kind of retconned himself.

2024-10-30 14:54:45 +0000 UTCTo help clarify what happened with the rainmaking ship and the rain starting; Crocodile was using that rainmaking ship to keep the rain from falling in Alabasta by making it fall at the ships location instead. What smoker did was turn the ship off, so that rain could be allowed to fall in Alabasta again. Now, whether the rain was already ready and waiting to fall at that moment, or if coincidence/fate brought the rain idk. Either way, Crocodile's physical defeat didn't bring it, but the capture of his ship allowed it.

2024-10-30 13:36:49 +0000 UTCSomething I wish I had done and what I would recommend you to do is take notes. Doesn't have to be much, because many episodes don't have any lore. But sometimes there are episodes that lore dump a bunch and it really helps to write down stuff. One of the most important might be things you see that you can't explain at this moment and then things like poneglyphs, names of people and who they are, places, devil fruits or how people are related and so on. There 100% will be stuff happening in 500 or even 1000 episodes where you think back to current ones but you can't quite remember the details.
