2024-10-27 11:52:56 +0000 UTCActually, he said something that can either mean "eat shit" or "(your orders) worth shit". Crunchyroll are good, but they often exaggerate with the swearing. For example, in most cases when you read things like "bi*ch/fu*k/etc.*" in the translation, the character didn't actually say that. very few Japanese characters use such vulgar words routinly when swearing at people like how English/Western characters do. Instead, their swearing normally involve words like "stupid/die/shit/etc.". These words in Japanese give equivalent umph to the words written in the translation. Otherwise, if the translator always writes "stupid" many viewers won't get excited as much. Personally I prefer if they write the words accurately as they are. For example, it's not nice to make Zoro say "you bi*ch" when he actually just said "you stupid woman" ๐คฃ

I would say Crocodile had grown complacent by relying on his powers in a land that is made up of sand and wasn't expecting someone to be ballsy enough to use their own blood to counter him. This fight can be confusing for new watchers because up to this point you know that being submerged in water weakens Devil Fruit users, and Luffy used water to hit Crocodile. The sea water weakness of Devil Fruit users and how Luffy beat Crocodile here are two completely different things. Luffy using his blood in place of the water at the end is a giveaway that simply hardening Crocodiles sand with any sort of liquid was his weakness, because he couldn't separate into fine sand anymore

Because of the nuance, it's actually less directly "Mr. Samurai" and more "Mr. Knight". She's implying that he's tough and honorable, which furthers the cuteness of the name.

2024-10-26 19:56:00 +0000 UTCI think its illustrated better in the manga but in regards to how luffy defeated croc, if you look back there hasent been any enimes who have survived more than a handful of punches from luffy, even in the croc fight cobra commented on him being able to punch through several layers of bedrock, luffy is STRONG strong. So all that was needed for luffy to win was for him to figure out HOW to punch crocodile.
