2024-10-26 12:28:06 +0000 UTCI don't know if anyone's mentioned it before, but just in case you guys get confused, only sea water negatively affects devil fruit users not just any type of water. The only reason any source of water negatively affected crocodile was because he's a sandman. I guess it's kinda how when you have wet sand it turns hard, therefore, physical attacks can make contact with him. Anyone correct me if I am wrong.

2024-10-25 20:38:03 +0000 UTC@Toidleboy there is a huge difference between a book title where single title encompases whole book and reading titles of episodes that basically summarizes what is going to happen in next 24 minutes. You cant compare book title with episode titles if anything, book title equivalent would be name of anime aka "one piece" not names of episodes. Closest to your book comparison would be book chapters and they are never titled, only numbered.

2024-10-25 20:36:43 +0000 UTCepisode 126 is still one of my very favourite episodes of the whole show. first of all the art is beautiful, the voice acting is once again top notch, and the mUSIC?? they used dvoraks symphony nr.9 in case you want to listen to it - its so triumphant and beautiful, but also kind of bitter-sweet? its really fitting. and the rain coming back i think is probably bc just crocodiles presence alone had an effect on his environment (like for example when we saw that super brief flashback when ace was shown at the very end of drum island, the village person said that no snow fell that whole day on drum? i think crocodile had a similar thing going on, just with rain. and when he was finally knocked unconcious, his effect finally disapated i think!

And this has been the case from day one. So it’s not really the typical nakama stuff in anime. Also this is the first time in the serious He’s had to push past his limit. Don’t forget also Crocodile was weakened.

Your analogy also doesn’t apply here, considering that the anime isn’t made specifically for new consumers of the story. It is made with manga readers in mind, so they put a lot of information in episode titles and openings that can spoil significant events or plot points. I wish I wouldn’t have been exposed to a lot of it as someone who didn’t start reading the manga until about two years ago, after I was caught up to the anime for over a year. Are you seriously going to tell me that, for example, we should encourage first time watchers to read the episode title for 483 before watching the episode? Or for 1071? I’m not posting my reactions to books online for other people. This isn’t the same as going book shopping for myself.

2024-10-25 16:32:22 +0000 UTCThe climax of the Alabasta arc is a masterpiece. Episode 126 especially is a spectacular bit of cinema. It's genuinely one of my top three favorite episodes from early One Piece. Vivi screaming in vain, Luffy's persistence, Nami holding back tears when she sees Vivi, the rain falling at the same time as Crocodile? All amazingly done. Vivi's VA in particular absolutely nailed her performance. The desperation in her voice makes my eyes misty every time I hear her trying to yell over the sounds of battle. And don't even get me STARTED on the soundtrack! The song playing when Luffy throws his final attack at Crocodile is phenomenal. It's an excerpt from Antonín Dvořák's "New World Symphony" Allegro con fuoco. Not only is it an amazing piece of music, but the title has multiple meanings in the context of the story. Alabasta is about to be a "new world" without Crocodile orchestrating from the shadows. And the Straw Hats are about to enter a "new world" because they're in an entirely different league now. Luffy and his crew have defeated other strong pirates and marines before, but Crocodile is on a different level. Aside from Mihawk, Crocodile is the most powerful villain they've faced so far. What's more, he's one of the Seven Warlords, an officially recognized pirate, allied with the government. Granted, Smoker and Tashigi know he's a traitor now, but regardless, that title isn't given lightly. The point is, shit's only gonna pick up from here.
