2024-11-16 01:15:16 +0000 UTCI know this reaction was from weeks ago now, but personally I found these episodes to be pretty weak. This is not necessarily because of us finding out how the first Avatar came to be, but rather because there were elements of the back story that were confusing and it felt like the story was missing some crucial pieces. The execution didn't land for me. Raava states that she can't stay in Wan's body or it can be detrimental, but all it took was Wan touching a light beam that he has no idea will do absolutely anything and now him and Raava are bonded forever. Seems all too convenient for it to occur this way. All we can deduce about Harmonic Convergence is that it occurs every 10000 years, it's a battle between Vaatu and Raava, that the two spirit portals combine, and it presumably increases spiritual energy. None of these aspects would ever lead us to understand why Raava and Wan were able to merge forever or why Raava is able to reincarnate through more humans. For these reasons, I think that the back story of the Avatar could have been a lot more comprehensive and we can only make assumptions on why this was even possible.

Giving you the backstory of how the elements were first introduced to humans, why the nations and separation exist and how the avatar state was created. So now when you look back on it I think the avatar can take away bending because of how in tune they are(or should be with the spirits) since lion turtles can naturally take the elements back.

The very first scene is him putting himself in harms way to help feed his friends, and then to give up his share to feed some random wild animals. That's the heart that made him save Mula (the cat dear) and that the spirits saw in him. Btw Mula is to Wan what Appa is to Aang, Naga to Korra and Fang to Roku, his animal guide.

Raava X the Avatar is the one true ship of this series 😂 And the guy who was half tree getting turned into firewood 😂😂😂 Also I think you guys might have forgot that Unalaq made Korra open the spirit portal in the south pole in the beginning of the season. That's why he could pass through it now to enter the spirit world. The portal was closed by Wan 10000 years ago as we see in the Wan episodes.

I was anticipating this reaction. I also didn't wanna spoil anything because you hadn't seen it yet. I think the love triangle stuff is handled even worse in book 2. I really hated that they leaned even more into it here. And yeah whoever told you the romance bullshit was confined to season 1 did you dirty

They also specified that you need to go through the portals to "physically" enter the spirit world. If you remember the original series, Aang couldn't bend when he was in the spirit world, because his physical body wasn't there.

2024-10-25 18:05:13 +0000 UTCLove the reactions! Can’t wait for more Korra! Book 3 is my fave! The situation with the animation was caused by a change in animation studio for the beginning of Book 2. Beginnings and everything after Episode 10 of Book 2 through the end of the series will be back to the original animation studio from Book 1. You can definitely tell there is an upgrade starting with Episode 10, only episode 9 of the other studio to get through!

2024-10-25 16:51:46 +0000 UTCso regarding the art style, and i might not be 100% right: the usual studio was busy so they got a different place to animate s2, but then the original studio came back for these 2 episodes, as well as for the rest of the series thank goodness (besides episode 2x09, that one is still the other animators), so don't worry u guys are almost back to our characters looking normal lol and yea i think they deliberately made these 2 episodes look different to match the time/era when it took place, it looked amazing can't wait for you guys to see the rest of s2, it picks up the pace a lot from now on, then on to the goated season 3

Episodes 7 and 8 were done by the original animators as well. Episodes 1 through 6, and 9 were animated by a different studio which is why the animation hasn't been up to par.
