So, I was on record as having really disliked the inclusion of an attempted SA in the first episode, having read some of the manga since, I feel like it actually kinda earned its inclusion retroactively. This is a series that definitely, intentionally, holds space for the exploration of how scary and unfair it can be to be a woman. I wasn’t really expecting it from a series as fucking insane as this one, but there’s a lot of really careful and sensitive handling of some really heavy material, and it just continued to impress me at every turn with its emotional intelligence.
