Watching this episode after having watched season 3 onwards and reading the most important parts of the manga where their relationship was addressed, the whole fight scene and Izuku punching Katsuki for saying he'd rather lose than fight with Izuku makes so much more sense and packs SO much more emotion. I'm literally in awe at how the lines that seemingly were just for dramatic effect (Don't YOU say that you'd rather lose!) have so much more meaning behind them because of how their feelings towards each other were described and portrayed later on. Truly, they are one pair of complicated childhood friends and rivals. And I love them so much!
