Bakugo has had it easy tho lol he has a completely normal home life and has been praised his entire life. One of Bakugo's major faults that's addressed much later is his inferiority complex towards Deku. Bakugo is also really unlikable lol If you knew any person that is as abrasive as Bakugo (remember that he isn't just like that w Deku but literally everyone else) you wouldn't like him either but I will agree on your allocation of fault between the twi

I hear you and while I still think bakugo is mostly to blame, you gotta look at it from his eyes as well. From the beginning of the show we're made to empathise completely with deku and not at as much with bakugo (intentionally), its not like bakugo has had it all easy either. But you would think after all these years deku would realise how to actually talk to bakugo effectively. Hell, kirishima figured it out in like 10 episodes? But nope, he yaps about how they can't beat all might because he's a God in his eyes without actually caring for what bakugo has in mind. When deku does do that bakugo pretty quickly tells him his plan and why running away is flat out stupid. Imo it's like 75% bakugos issue and 25% deku

Why does Deku need to be the one to constantly figure out how to navigate his relationship w Bakugo when he’s the one who has been constantly bullied and harassed by this kid? I’ve never found any reason (at this point of the series) to like Bakugo or even entertain why he might dislike Deku. Deku may not have had the best strategy but if Bakugo just communicated in a nonviolent way then it could’ve turned out better for both of them early on. Just saying I feel like Bakugo gets cut too much slack in these earlier seasons bc he is 100% the asshole in most of these situations

Deku knows dang well better than anyone else what annoys bakugo yet he continues to act the same way. Like when he's so focused on running away and tries to make bakugo do the same. Like bruh you know this man would never do that but yet you still keep nagging him throughout the test. Even things like Deku saying that Bakugo yelling all the time is the reason they never can communicate, but then also interjecting his own opinion every time bakugo tries to speak "b-but you can't do that all might is unbeatable". Obviously bakugo isn't perfect but this isn't completely one sided imo. Deku could have definitely gone about talking to him another way and bakugo needs to control his pride a little 🤏

Functionally an OVA. The same happens slightly loser in season 5 for movie 3 but don't worry about that yet.

The movies are not 100% necessary because they are written like bottle episodes but there are details that are more enjoyable in the anime because of references to movies. Especially in later seasons.

I love every episode that shows Deku-Shiggy (Shigaraki) interactions and/or parallels. Shiggy is my favourite villain from this show. The writing is SO GOOD! This episode I love how we see Shiggy now get a proper conviction as opposed to acting like a generic villain up until this point, and the same time we see Deku realizing that the hero he idolizes has also faced 'failures' in not being able to save everyone. That shift is important to both of them and I love how the author wrote that into what is otherwise a very laidback episode. Next season is going to be sooo good and I'm so so excited for you guys' reaction to it, plus the first movie! I'm happy you guys are considering the villains also for the MVP slot. It just makes more sense to do it that way give how this show is haha. Thank you so much once again for these reactions and looking forward to the movie next!

2024-10-08 15:05:38 +0000 UTCYour reactions to Ep 24 was EVERYTHING that I had hoped for. You guys caught on to exactly what the episode was trying to say. Season 2 has a lot of peak moments and ep 24 is easily in the top three for me, Katsuki Bakugo's origin put so many things into perspective about him as a character and I love that they wrote him into an episode with both Deku and All Might and made it a battle of sorts, cos that's the best way to narrate Bakugo's character lol. Not sure if you caught it but up until Deku punched him, Bakugo was set on his prideful thinking that he will win against All Might just by himself and without using Deku, and it was after Deku yelled at him saying "don't YOU talk about losing" that Bakugo changed his strategy to a compromise but without letting go of his pride, which is that he will still fight All Might and not just run away. I LOVE that so much! It's like Ange said, with Bakugo's character his pivotal points in the story need to be gentle and not jarring for it to make sense. 100% agreed on Bakugo being the mvp of ep 24. And don't worry, you guys will see cute Bakugo in the future eps haha!
