Its what idiots say when they cant understand the motives or reasoning behind characters actions so they always accept it for what it is. "eh, thats murderer, its what they do" "women, amirite" etc. "It aint that deep" is an insult that slow minded use to respond to someone who is able to read between the lines and/or understand what writters wanted to say with actions, not just see the actions. Benefit of doubt could be granted that you did not try to be insulting but based on duck test thats unlikely

2024-10-05 05:27:07 +0000 UTCThe only thing I liked about Mineta is the compliment he gave to Izuku. It shows that there's already lots of people in the class that look up for him and sees him as a hero or an incredible person, which is great. But Mineta's character development is just too poor, if there is one at all. He's just a perv with pervy goals that actually do pervy things. And whatever happened in this episode can't even be called a character development. He just somehow came up with a plan to win, and had a little realization about heroes. But he didn't changed at all in the end. He remains exactly the same after that. It really don't come from nowhere that everyone hates him. Koda, on the other end, overcame his phobia almost in an instant. Which is, whatever people might say, an incredibly difficult thing to do, nothing to undermine here. And he did it in order to help someone else, something that is clearly heroic. I think he deserved the MVP way more than Mineta. And one last thing appart from that, Bakugo's character development is amazing throughout the series, clearly one of my favorites. Everytime he gives us something, it's an important moment on screen. So expect no less than a really great character development from him ^^

2024-10-03 13:22:53 +0000 UTCbefore the test mineta wanted to be a hero because he thinks if he is a hero he can be popular with the ladies. mineta pass the test because that makes him one step closer to being a hero and once he is a hero he can perv easier on ladies. what character development happened here? i see none whatsoever. he even spent all that time with mount lady after sport festival and he learned nothing. from episode 1 this ball of perversity had no development and i am yet to see a single scene in whole series that gets better because he is in it. every time he is on the screen i either cringe or feel defeated

Dont compare his fear of bugs with your fear of bugs, compare it with thing you fear the most and then decide if his feat is not mvp worthy. also Mineta did not sacrifice his lust or overcome any obstacle nor did he learn any lessons from this. He is still going to be pervert, he did not have epiphany realizing his lust and perversities hold him back. he simply put his temporary lust aside for a bigger goal he has on his mind which is becoming hero in order to be popular with ladies. he was simply looking at bigger picture. definitely not MVP worthy

If he was alone facing the test we can't tell for sure if he wouldnt run away from his fears and fail the test but because his actions were affecting someone else he faced them head on. Koda deserves MVP for this episode. Koda went from good to very good and he did it out of kindness of his heart and his benevolent nature. Mineta on other hand although his action was huge for the kind of person he is, isnt near as big deal as Koda's moment is. Facing your phobia and ignoring your lust are simply not comparable, i dont care how thirsty or horny you are, you can't defend mineta. AND most importantly, Koda came out better person out of this, did mineta? did he learn the lesson and realized he should stop being a lowest scum on earth lecherously perving on girls without their consent or even awareness? no. he came out of this none wiser than he was before this. And lets not pretend he sacrificed his lusty nature for short period for someone else's sake like Koda faced his phobia for Jiro. He doesnt want to fail test because he thinks he need to be a hero to become popular with the ladies and he cant do that if he fails tests. Even his motivation for this victory wasnt noble or selfless, he is simply playing a long game fully prioritizing his perversities

Mineta, controlled his lust in a way and came up with a plan to not only avoid Midnights power, trap her, and carry his teammate out the gates. I think Mineta deserves MVP.

Koda overcame a deep fear, whereas Mineta kicked it into gear thinking it would help him become a hero who can perv on more women in the future, rather succumbing to perving more in this moment. It's essentially the same motivation, just focused on future gains. His greed/lust hasn't changed, he's just being smarter about it and working toward having more later. My opinion can definitely be argued, but that's how I viewed it.
