2024-10-06 15:11:44 +0000 UTCI'm not a fan of Mineta but I do like the fact that he came to a mature realization. He wanted to be cool and popular and thought that if he became a hero he would be. But meeting actual heroes and his other classmates with different personalities he realizes that "cool" people, people that already have a hero mindset to save others and sacrifice themselves for others, are the ones that become heroes, not the other way around.

Mineta was ranked higher than midoriya overall. that means running, hand grip, sit-ups, etc. Mineta was better than Midoriya in spite of his 3 month training with all might that got him all buffed so much he was moving all the junk by himself and with All might on top of it. Also Koda was 11th. I understand test was about quirk apprehension and how students try to apply their quirks to get better results in basic physical tests but how did animavoice help koda improve in any of it? how does he do situps better than half the class? :D it just makes no sense

2024-10-03 12:34:09 +0000 UTCteachers understand that if they try their best none of the kids have hope of passing the test and in the end it is supposed to be a test. they put lots of thought when pairing the students i believe this was even stated outright during tokoyami's and tsu's test. Test is not about defeating your enemy, its about pushing yourself through limits, working as a team, showing hero qualities. Kirishima and Sato failed not because cementos was not going easy on them unlike other teachers (allegedly), but because they failed to adapt. Cementos could use his powers to make their test way harder than it was, he could have trap them, lock them in the maze, actually fight them, simply cinderblock their legs so they cant move... instead he simply kept making walls for them to overcome and they kept doing same thing over and over. Even Nezu said that there was one route he left untouched on purpose so they always had chance of escaping. Reason they failed is because they were too focused on not getting crushed and avoiding imminent danger to see bigger picture. Momo and Shoto would have failed if Momo did not overcome her timidness, Koda and Jiro would have failed if Koda did not overcome his fear of bugs etc... Its about being better hero today than you were yesterday, going "plus ultra". nobody actually expects a student in their first year to win against teacher when they are fighting at their best. An lets be real, if that WAS the case and teachers are going all out then thats just bad school education system. Either nobody passes and so what was the lesson learned there? or couple of students in their first year with half assed powers and little to no strategy manage to defeat a pro hero in which case that teacher does not deserve to have hero license, i mean if two students can defeat you how can you go out and fight real bad guys putting your life at line?

2024-10-03 03:04:48 +0000 UTCThey're really showing their professionalism. The point isn't to (just) beat up students to show them their weaknesses, it's to have them improve. And obviously each student needs a different approach, hence all of the different team-ups, match-ups and strategies.

It would have been just too demoralizing if he still gave it his all after they successfully learned the lesson he was trying to teach them.

As someone pointed out it would have been great if Momo and Tsu's battles were in two eps instead of one cos both of them deserved to have their MVP moments. But I agree, that was Momo's episode. Fun fact btw, idk if you were told this but Tsu's VA is the one who voiced MaoMao in The Apothecary Diaries (You'll hear her a lot clearer in future episodes) Ep 23, Mineta is a pervy a**hole but I agree he did pull through in that episode (loved the derpy pic in the MVP graph lmao xD). I think his "heroism" is that he put aside his pervyness so that they could win against Midnight, weird as it sounds lmao. This is why I love this class so much, you have such incredibly wholesome characters like Deku and Iida, badass fighters like Bakugo, Shoto, amazing intellects like Momo and then there's frigging Mineta man xD I think Koda (the animal voice guy) and Jiro (earphone jack) also made good contenders for MVP though. Thank you again for these amazing reactions you guys. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on ep 24 and the season finale HAHAHA I'm so excited, and for movie 1 too ofc! You probably don't remember his name or his quirk since it wasn't highlighted as much but to make it easier to remember, "sato" is the Japanese word for sugar and his quirk involves him getting a power up from consuming sugar cubes, or anything sweet basically. (Not a spoiler since it was already mentioned in prev eps)
