@greyxwaren almost the entirety of these episodes were filler too. in the manga ace didn't even go to the desert with them

2024-09-24 12:38:15 +0000 UTCI wouldn’t really consider the filler in one piece bothersome, a lot of it is placed really well so that it doesn’t effect the actual story (aside from a handful of episodes) and likely because one piece is an adventure themed series along with the whole grand line “anything can happen” scheme - helps filler work really well. But I understand time is a huge factor and if they don’t skip most of the filler they could be watching/reacting for a lot longer than necessary

2024-09-24 02:56:42 +0000 UTCI don't think it's ever been an argument of if it's bad or good. It's more bothersome because it isn't canon, so none of it happened. It quite literally just stops you while you're on the track of the actual story to go do something completely irrelevant that will never mean anything. Skipping on that basis just makes the most sense, period. I don't want them to skip G-8, though.

2024-09-23 20:28:24 +0000 UTCThat's one of the reasons why I watch 98 and 99. We don't get enough Ace moments, so the filler episodes let you enjoy him for a bit longer. I know filler isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's a necessary "evil" that can be enjoyed if you have the right mindset. Just because something wasn't in the manga doesn't make it bad. That's not to say I think all filler episodes are worth watching, but I'm a fan of the Alabasta filler (especially 98).
