I need you guys to know that the popular fandom hero name for Bakugo is Ground Zero. I don't think any hero name hit me quite as hard as Ground Zero did, but alas 😂 Carlie: survives zombie shows Also Carlie: death by MHA "jumpscares" 🤣 If you can't pronounce "Uraraka", you can also call her Ochaco! She's referred to as both in the show.

2024-09-13 07:01:56 +0000 UTCBakugo's nickname is ridiculous but actually kind of clever in Japanese. "Baku" from Bakugo comes from "bakuhatsu' which means "bomb". And "king expolosion murder" is bakusastuou. "Satsu" relates to murder but when you put it together with "Baku" it becomes "Bakusatsu". This sounds like "bakuhatsu". And then "ou" just means king lol. Long story short, it's a pretty good pun even if it makes a horrible hero name lol.

2024-09-12 22:10:42 +0000 UTCI understand the argument that Shoto deserves the credit which would be true if he overcame his anger towards his father but he didn’t… I don’t remember how the line is in subbed but in dub after beating Deku Shoto told endeavor “whether it’s a good or bad thing I forgot all about you” I think it’s important to realize that Shoto wasn’t okay with using his quirk and never actually managed to get past his resentment towards his father in that episode, as he failed against Bakugo. Instead Deku reawakens Shoto’s dream of being a hero which brings out the fire. Shoto himself believes this is the first step out of many. I would say the bigger step for him was visiting his mother. Deku made the CHOICE to save Shoto. Shoto using his power was a fluke that influences his CHOICE to visit his mother. I think if you could go inside the television and ask Shoto he would give the credit to Deku.

2024-09-12 17:29:05 +0000 UTClove y’all’s discussion and thoughts. my take on ep10 mvp. shoto wasn’t looking to achieve freedom from his dad and security in himself. he was looking to stick it to his dad and made his entire motivation for success about his hatred for endeavor which only made him less of himself and what he could be. deku, after seeing shoto’s pain and anger and one conversation with endeavor immediately saw the root of shoto’s pain and couldn’t help but try to save him from the lies he had convinced himself of. shoto is an incredibly strong and good natured character and his ability to receive deku’s words is a credit to that, but even by the next match he’d already lost that clarity and conviction—the work toward his healing is only just beginning and his resolve will have to be tested. so i think in *that specific* episode deku is the mvp of the moment. but really enjoy the perspectives on it being shoto.

2024-09-12 14:54:44 +0000 UTCI agree with Carlie completely about the MVP segment. Deku helped, but it was Todoroki who had to make the hard realizations and growth in that episode. I love Deku, but I also think he made some stupid and reckless decisions in that fight, destroying his body in his attempt to win. That's not okay, and I agree with Recovery Girl that he shouldn't necessarily be praised for it. He did permanent damage to himself. Overall, I love Deku for helping Todoroki, and I do think that's incredibly heroic, but on balance, Todoroki made better choices in that episode, and he also made huge strides in character growth. You can't just give all of his progress to Deku and disregard how difficult that growth was for him.

2024-09-12 14:53:07 +0000 UTCI love these reactions/reviews I can’t wait for stain and by the way that jump scare was hilarious 😂 Regarding episode 10 I understand where Carlie is coming from and I would agree with her, however I think there’s a difference between encouraging someone and making them realise that their world view is wrong. It all boils down to would shoto of changed if deku didn’t intervene, I don’t think he would he’d still be thinking of his quirks as his parents. Deku ignored all mights request to show the world he is here just to save someone. Love from the uk 🇬🇧
