Korra is very eager to learn still, its just when she hits a wall and doesnt know how to get through it that she stuggles keeping at it

Korra is hothead, she has a very different path to walk as the avatar, very different from Aang, She is very reckless.

With all the lamenting about old characters I can't wait for episode 10 (for the sake of clarifying that this is not a spoiler, an old character is not revealed in episode 10)

ATLA DID have similar production issues. Please don’t spread misinformation and use sources if you reply back to me.

“So we did those scripts, and then we got greenlit for 13 episodes. It wasn't even 20." Wanting the network to realize the potential of the story, they ended those 13 episodes on a high note, which is why episode 13 is "The Blue Spirit," largely considered one of the best episodes of the entire show. After the rest of the first season was picked up, the show once again ended its possible run on a high note, with "The Siege of the North."
Even when season 2 got picked up, there was no guarantee for a third season, which led to the huge cliffhanger in which Aang got hit with lightning, his fate uncertain. "They did not pick it up after season 2," Ehasz revealed. "The ratings were not strong enough! They did not pick it up. We laid off all the writers after season 2. Everybody was sent home for three or four months."

It wasn't until Nickelodeon's Eric Coleman started campaigning for the show to the rest of the Nickelodeon brass that season 3 was confirmed, but the writers and the rest of the team were still away. "So there was a rolling hiatus through all of season 3, where all the storyboard artists had to take a couple months off, all the designers had to take a couple months off. Everyone did, because we had to catch up again on the scripts. So Avatar was essentially default cancelled between season 2 and season 3. People do not know that. So there was always love, but there was not always obvious success and ratings for Avatar."

the primary instrument used in the main theme is actually an erhu! It's a chinese stringed instrument and honestly my favourite musical instrument due to its unique sound

ATLA did not have similar issues with its production. Nickelodeon ordered 60 episodes (ended up being 61) when they greenlit Avatar back in 2004, but they couldve been canceled if reception was bad enough like any tv show. But also this is largely the way tv shows were created before streaming took over; networks would be pitched shows and they could order a specific amount of episodes but it may end up being canceled or renewed later on. Now networks order 8-12ish episodes for a season and still may end up being canceled or renewed. Korra ended up getting the produced under the latter formula because thats the direction all tv shows were heading in.

To be fair, ATLA had similar issues with its production and not knowing if each season would get renewed. Pacing was still amazing.

Nah, calling Amon the Zhao of the season is wild. The disrespect is crazy...

Really love how you're reacting to this show without prejudice. A lot of reactors I've seen had serious yearning on Aang that they have judged/reacted to Korra's actions by comparing her to Aang which is a wrong way to watch the show since Korra despite being Aang's reincarnation isn't really supposed to "follow his footsteps", but rather make her own path that is much necessary for the current world she lives in. On the contrary, I also love how you guys are the only reactors I've seen whom actually recognized that certain actions and decisions of Korra do resemble Aang (albeit not all), aka the part where both avatars prioritized having fun over learning during the start of their journey. Because a lot of reactors are too focused on criticizing her that they forget while she's a different person, she also has similarities with Aang even in the most silliest way.

No spoilers but fun if you consider that Aang's and Korra's journeys are kind of complete opposites in a way, as are their personalities. People who are expecting more of the same as Aang get annoyed but if you go into it knowing it's a completely different person, show and Avatar and at a different stage of her life and the world's, you'll enjoy it properly

So glad you guys are reacting to this! Definitely a different vibe but I personally really love Korra's story over the the course of the seasons and how it contrasts Aangs.

Yes. Yes. Amon won't be a huge problem at all. Completely chill tbh 😂. Love the Korra reactions and theories! Looking forward to more!

Little bit of an advisory comment, because originally the creators thought Korra s1 would be a one and done, the pacing will get a bit wonky. for s2 they didn’t know if it would also be cancelled so the writing will feel a bit off. nothing is wrong with them both but you will notice these things and this is why.

I just love this show! It's not as airtight as Avatar because Nickolodeon never seemed to give Korra a full shot, so there was always some drama in the production that affected the quality. You can't tell what the other books are because the first season was meant to be a standalone sequel, and it was surprisingly renewed.
