s7 over 1,2,3 is insaneee. season 7 is basically season 8 levels of terrible dialogue, worse direction, random nonsense to make the plot fall in to place, but was only excused with a hope that season 8 will fix things up at the end

Don't need to cry mate. I already know I have terrible rakes because most the fanbase disagrees with me. I don't think s7 had a bad episode and I liked all the content in s8 but it was just very rushed

A little worse? Season 2 wasn’t even close to season 2 of GOT. The characters in GOT are far better than HOD as well. Not sure why I would purposely hate on a show I spent time watching, it’s just not anywhere as good and all my coworkers agree that it’s like an average of 7/10 so far after two seasons.

I agree season 1 was better but I don’t really mind this season as a whole. It does seem like a lot of set up and they finally have all the characters where they need them. I was actually most intrigued by rhaena’s storyline this season. I was so curious what was gonna happen with the wild dragon and it’s honestly my favorite design so that’s really neat. I do think introducing the woman character with tyland (I don’t remember her name) in the season finale felt out of place idk lol. I felt like introducing her mid season or maybe beginning of 3 would’ve felt more natural. Also I do agree the harrenhal saga went on too long 😭 still excited for season 3 I think it’s really gonna pop off and I’m really excited for Addam and Hugh’s characters!

Guarantee you if it was anyone other than Matt Smith we probably would have seen him for one-two episodes and then he would have disappeared like Otto, but because its Matt they dragged it out as much as they could lol

The difference is that GOT was from the first hand perspective of people in the book. Fire and blood is a history book with "accounts" from different sources so it's up to the reader/listener to decide what they believe or don't.

I'm very scared, the writers made some deviations that made me wonder if they learned from the mistakes of GOT and Dumb and Dumber in season 6 7 8, if you know Alicent from the books, how they did Blood and Cheese, The blacks being portrayed as "good". Season 2 was bad, but I might be a very harsh critic, not because of the acting, or nothing happening, but especially the writing bothered me..

I have seen a lot of ppl literally stating that this episode wasn’t good because it had no dragon action, thats more what my comment was addressing. I just dont get that logic lol. If the writing of the season didnt work for you thats completely fair, some of it didnt work for me either but still for the majority enjoyed it. Hopefully we will look back at the setup of this season fondly in a couple years once the rest of the story is told. Only time will tell 🫠

Agreed, characters were all over the place and it was sometimes hard to get a sense on what their motivations were due to it. The Daemon arc was also really poorly done; why would you take out one of your most exciting characters out of the action for over 60% of the season? I understand the point of the hallucinations but it was beyond dragged out

inconsistent characterization was my biggest gripe, as well as scenes that should have taken 1 episode being dragged out (Daemon in Harrenhall, Alicent being sad/suicidal, etc)

oh I can name many examples of bad writing this season, I’m sorry to say. and there was definitely a LOT of filler. it’s silly to say people only want action, when the first seasons of GoT were very slow paced but they were sooo good and everyone loves them.

The entirety of s2 besides a moment here or there just felt like set up / prep for s3. I enjoyed some of the episodes quite a bit, and some others were just kind of eh. I’m not someone who needs every episode to be action filled (and I’ve watched a lot of very slow shows), but this season was a bit lacklustre imo. I don’t think switching to 8 episodes helped either (longer episodes or not). If it was still the 10 episode format, next episode would probably have been a big battle with the final episode being the “aftermath” / set up episode for s3.

I see many ppl strongly overreacting online that this season was “pointless” and “filler” 😂 while it was slower than season 1, i dont think anything we saw was bad or poor writing. I swear everytime a dragon aint burning something down ppl riot, we needa chill before these dumb execs think we want spectacle over story. Last time that happened we got the last 2 seasons of GoTs 💀

my season recap Favorite characters: - Larys - good charcter, even better actor - Aemond - I just enjoy it every time he’s on screen - Jace - just a very solid character arc and he did a lot Worst characters: - Alicent - the woman betrayed her own children and allies, after she was the one that started the whole thing - Rhaena - good potential with her arc but went nowhere. kinda like Alicent, she’s just out there looking sad Best scene: -“Attack, Meleys” 😭 Worst scene: - Daemon and his mom 🤢
