One Piece/Horimiya Update!
Added 2024-07-27 17:16:41 +0000 UTCHey guys! We were made aware that we should be watching a bit of Episode 55 for One Piece as well. So we have done that in a video with Episode 53. We also filmed 61-62 and are planning to film 63-64 tomorrow. You can expect ALL of those to drop in a few days.
Horimiya Episodes 1 and 2 will go live in 24 hours!

They mentioned taking a break after major arcs before, but regardless of that, if they're really enjoying it, I don't see them stopping. At the earliest, I see them taking a break at the end of this next saga, since in the grand scheme of everything, it isn't that long and contains the first actual major arc.

They were right to skip this first all-filler arc because it's one of the worst, but to write off ALL filler as a waste of time is an odd take. Every single episode of anime based on a manga or light novel has filler in it, some shows and some episodes more than others. If an anime only adapted manga panels, it would be closer to a sideshow. As for whether 100% filler episodes are worth watching, it really depends on the episode. Just because an episode doesn't advance the main plot doesn't mean it was useless. If you feel entertained, and if it helped you to grow closer to the characters, I'd argue that watching it was time well spent. Honestly, considering how bad the show's pacing gets later, I wish One Piece had MORE filler arcs (or had taken more hiatuses).

2024-07-27 18:30:51 +0000 UTCA waste of time seems unfair. We're on the cruise. The odd little detour doesn't hurt. Granted, some filler arcs in One Piece are certainly better than others, but they all fit the vibe of One Piece pretty well. They add to the journey, to the adventure. They introduce more characters and more of the world and give us more time with the crew to enjoy their chemistry with each other, and see more of what their days on the ship are like. On my first watch through Post-Arabasta, Ruluka Island, G8 and Ocean's Dream filler arcs were personal favourites of mine.
