Like, you don't insist that you're the best, better than everyone else, and never wrong unless you have some pathological inability to confront the fact that you might *not* be the best. You're so afraid of the concept of failure that you reject the possibility of it entirely.

VERY common mistake.... - Deku's costume was his design, combined with the U.A.'s contracted costume designers' who brought it to life. His mom just gave him the tracksuit after seeing his design in his notebook. @ 10:55 in your E6 reaction.

He was given so much praise and attention since he was young, combined with his actual special abilities and talents, and all that got to his head. As a result, he is very arrogant and egotistical and thinks he's a special chosen one... it's his destiny. He's tripping on power basically. So anyone he looks down on as worthless or beneath him, like Deku, drives him crazy when he sees some "fool" not realizing how low on the totem pole they actually are, and living obliviously unaware of how unspecial they are. Remember Carlie, that's Himmel's VA right there :). Super crazy to even fathom, even now, after knowing for a while.

2024-07-26 21:45:36 +0000 UTCI love the fact that we get to rewatch all this show at the same time it's ending in manga. It's like a full loop. Bakugo was basically the leader of the kids group, and as every kid, to be the number one, he needs a number two, someone lesser than him. Kacchan thought of Izuku as his "pebble". The one who, because he is inferior, makes him confident in himself. But seeing Izuku worrying about him and "helping" him, breaks that scenario. He cannot be better than Izuku if Izuku helps him. Add to that being gifted with a truly fantastic Quirk and being validated by everyone (Plus being talented and working hard to succeed), Bakuga grew up NEEDING to succeed. That's his only way : to continue to climb higher. He does not intend to be great, he claims he will be better than All Might. Ironically, everything about Bakugo is Plus Ultra.

Also, I was happy that you caught Eren, but unfortunately, you didn't catch that the girl who spoke right after him (the girl who seems clever and good at school) is Armin XD

2024-07-26 20:20:24 +0000 UTCYes, Deku means useless in Japanese. Dekiru (you can do it) is what Uraraka thought he was being called. This play on words will be a constant. Don't worry about calling him Deku though, it'll be explained more in depth later on. Those 2 adults in the flashback were Bakugo's teachers. You two clocked it with everyone praising him for his quirk (strong quirks are really valued in society). Coupled with how Bakugo's naturally gifted at things, when he can't do something (falling in the river), or someone does it better (Deku winning), he feels liked he's failed. With how naturally being a hero comes to Deku, like when he saved Bakugo, I've always felt that Bakugo's felt inferior to Deku (and a little jealous) that being a hero comes so naturally to someone without a quirk when society tells them having a strong quirk is what makes someone a hero. And now out of nowhere Deku has a strong quirk on top of naturally acting like a hero and Bakugo is super triggered.
