I think MVP for Episode 5 is very clearly Aizawa. He was ready to protect Deku, and everyone else, by expelling him. He does not know Deku has only just got his quirk. Everyone else has had them for about 10 years so by this stage should be very good at controlling them. All Aizawa sees is someone who would be a danger to himself and others, as he himself would be in need of rescue after just one heroic act. His manner was abrupt, but he does care. As you’ve already seen the whole of Season 1, I’m not giving anything away by saying Aizawa is awesome! So glad you’re watching subbed version. Midoriya’s voice in the dub version is unendurable (although All Might is excellent).

2024-08-15 21:07:14 +0000 UTCI'm so glad you like Kaito Ishikawa (VA for Tenya and Kags). If I'm not mistaken, only a year after his debut as a voice actor, he got the lead role for an anime. He landed the role for Kageyama only 2 years after his debut. Absolutely mind blowing. 🤯🤯

Main characters with seemingly little physical prowess but a lot of heart and outstanding heroism, gaining superhuman prowess through external means so that their dream of becoming a hero can come true.

All Might is one of my top favourite characters of this show, he's like a true embodiment of the word 'hero' but he's also a whole cutie pie! You guys will love his and Deku's dynamic. I'm glad you guys are watching this subbed since All Might's english stands out even more in the subbed version lmao. Can't wait for the next episodes!

It's okay to give the first half of the season to Deku. He's the protagonist, we're supposed to love him first. LMAO. It's been a while since I've seen the first season but there might be other MVPs starting next upload.

Maybe just exclude Deku from the options for MVP in this first season at least to give a bit more focus on the side characters with that for now, which also could make you pay even more attention to them during the episode to figure out which one to choose or something like that which could make it a bit more interesting. Really loving following your reactions to this show!

2024-07-20 02:50:23 +0000 UTCid say season two is where different options for MVP will really start to open up, but naturally as our protagonist deku will still have his fair share. as far as season one goes tbh id just keep it going, itd feel kinda funny to me if the segment was here and then not here and then here again? even if its deku over and over lol. we'll get to see more of our cast now that we're at UA, though!

Ange's performance is great, but I go from like normal speaking to "gotta turn the volume down to save my ears" in the span of 5 seconds lol. --- I like the MVP idea for this series, but Carlie's right... IIRC a large chunk of the early SEASONS revolves around Deku. It's been like 6-8 years since I've seen the early episodes though, so I may be misremembering.

I really like that you decided to bring in the MVP segment back (it would be fun to call it the Top Hero segment) for this series. You'll definitely get more variety for choices the further into the show you get.

The opening scene of Episode 1 takes place somewhere called “Tatooine Station” and All Might tasks Deku with cleaning up “Dagoba Beach”. There’s plenty more influence to be seen as well so keep an eye out!
