2024-12-11 08:45:15 +0000 UTCAbout the women comments...I know Carlie meant no harm with them but I just found it funny considering the women characters we have in this show are Katara, Toph, Azula, Suki, Kyoshi, Ty Lee, Mai, etc. lol...I think this show/universe does an amazing job showing how powerful women are and I think that having a lot of women characters fighting in the battle was just showing that. (BTW the woman guard was voiced by Serena Williams, who was a big fan of ATLA when it was airing)

2024-07-20 12:38:16 +0000 UTCyeah, it's funny when Azula is literally their strongest fighter haha, but I know Carlie didn't mean it like that. when you're looking at physical strength only (non-benders) it's fair to assume men would be stonger fighters. but then again, we have the Kyoshi warriors, so ATLA really made sure to drive home the point that women can be capable warriors!

I might be wrong but to me nothing in the wording indicated that she was still being imprisoned somewhere

I always thought he wrote the letter to Zuko in code cause he needed someone else to deliver it for him. Not to mention if he was sneaking out, why would he wait until the eclipse and then destroy his cell to escape?

She’s done a lot more but those are some of her most famous roles. ☺️

Zuko can't create his own lighting due to the duality of his nature, but he's been able to redirect it ever since he was taught by Iroh. Also, Iroh did teach a lot more firebending to Zuko than just the one move, he's been training him ever since Zuko was banished. We see that in episode 1 when the characters are introduced.

Probably my favorite scene in the show as well, finally saying out loud what the audience had been thinking for the whole show to the person who had to be told. But you better believe there are still serious contenders for that position. And Zuko redirecting both Ozai's words and attacks using Iroh's teachings... Just perfection. Also, if you noticed, when Zuko walks away after telling him everything, only the side of his face that wasn't marked by his father can be seen by us 👌

Ozai is wrong about Iroh's philosophy making him weak. Lightning redirection is the direct result of Iroh studying waterbenders, which is completely antithetical to the Fire Nation's belief about its inherent superiority.
