- One Piece 45-48 are a few days behind but you will see those early on in the week
My Hero Academia will have 3 episodes a week starting this coming week.
Avatar and the winner of the next poll (will be up shortly) will be sharing 2 episodes each a week now instead of 3 episodes. This decision has been made to accommodate the new Patreon exclusive series coming this week.
Hell's Paradise should begin at the end of the week!
The ALL ACCESS exclusive reaction will also drop by the end of the week.
If anyone has any additional questions regarding this update, we'll try our best to answer those!! ❤️

Correct. I just think some people on this post are trying to find reasons to discredit criticisms on this show.

I'm not going to explain all the numerous discussions I've had about LOK that definitely are purely misogynistic to prove my point here, because I'm not claiming that all of the criticism is invalid or sexist. Our experiences of the fandom are entirely subjective.

By doing so, you paint a picture that criticism of this show is wrong or that it's based on offensive narratives. Which is probably more often just not the case.

"world dynamics are so much better" when it literally rewrites the lore... ATLA : moon and ocean = ying and yang LOK : raava and vatu= ying and yang, ATLA: summer/winter solstice are when the spirit world and real world are closest together, LOK: harmonic convergence which is once every 10k years is when the spirit world and real world are closest together. in ATLA roku said ive mastered the elements a thousand times in a thousand livetimes= theres been around 1000 avatars, in LOK theres harmonic convergence breaks this math, since 10k/1k = 10, meaning the average avatar would only live for 10 years, which they noticed IN HINDSIGHT and retconned it in some bs LOK comic, changing the number of total avatars to live up until korra to 83... how TF is that better worldbuilding? we barely get to see much of the "world" of LOK to begin with... LOK also dropped ATLAS traditional/conservatice culture and design for american culture (literally turns the colonies into the United republic and over the course of the show tries to establish democratic leaderships (its a tv show in a fantasy universe, it doesnt need to follow real life rules), even the characters look mostly "whitewashed" which is a wild thing to achieve with the animation style of ATLA. Is LOK the worst show ever? no. is it a good successor to ATLA? no.

To assume the mixed reviews are from people who are too judgy, is a bit off putting. I think Korra's differences can be good, but her being different doesn't automatically make her a well written character. I also had no gripes with the setting of the show and I actually don't have an issue with the direction of the characters. The writing just wasn't consistent enough.

I honestly enjoyed LOK more because the characters were closer to my age.

2024-07-17 14:17:50 +0000 UTCI feel like most of the reviews that aren't positive just come from the expectations of ATLA being more of a kids oriented show, while LOK is more mature and has more heavy issues that can be hard to swallow. Plus I can see how the next avatar being a girl can upset so many people, which is so stupid.

ATLA is great all the way through, but Korra is way better than Aang and world dynamics are so much better. Villains are so cool in Korra.

It's one of the few pieces of media that I truly think you HAVE to warn most people before showing. I get that the surprise and shock of some of it is part of the appeal... but it's also just truly some of the most disturbing and problematic stories out there. And I kinda think they might not appreciate it?

Especially when you consider how few western animation projects at the time got greenlit that aren't either A) explicitly for children, or B) crass adult animation sitcoms.... The first season especially suffers from major pacing issues, most likely from trying to fit a whole avatar followup into 11 eps, not having any idea if there'd be future seasons... but it also just suffers from trying to follow up one of the most beloved western animated series.. it's good, but it's not on the same level. Which always feels bad in retrospect...

Not trying to deter them from watching it, because I still find portions of it to be S tier. I just wanted to provide an insight from someone who is indifferent on them watching it.

It's a really great show if given the chance. It gets deeper than ATLA in my opinion and tackles some really thought provoking issues and adversities.

As a suggestion, is it possible that when you guys make posts about the content or schedule of the channel, that they go out to the free / public follower tier or whatever it is called. Sometimes I (and maybe others) unsubscribe for a while if I'm busy, short on cash or if you aren't watching shows I've seen, but I'd still like to know what your plans are and future updates to come!

Its also another 50+ episodes to commit to in that slot and we’re already doing 2 very long series in One Piece and My Hero Academia. We’re not sure at this stage!!!
