2024-06-11 14:51:08 +0000 UTCthis episode is top 5 for me, & that moment at the end may just be my favorite moment of the series. appa is the last remaining thing aang has from his previous life; everyone else he loved or knew is gone. his trauma regarding the extinction of his people adds another layer to this arc & his attachment to appa. seeing aang in that much pain is so sad to see, but when katara pulls aang out of that pain, out of that state, and just holds him, with the music playing background… so impactful & beautiful. i cry every time i rewatch it.
