The only symbolic thing I could think of about that scene is...the time Maomao gets deeply involved with Jinshi, given his status, will eventually probably end up dead. She indirectly and barely got involved this episode and she got her face messed up, fell down the stairs, encountered the person she really dislikes and almost bled to death because Jishi didn't pick up the pace as if he was carrying a dead person.

Jinshi just presented her with a prize in exchange of solving the issue/mystery. So she put in the effort. Everything was for the ox bezoar. If she failed then there's no ox bezoar...like seriously...coz Jinshi would've been dead 😆 That ox bezoar was the first thing she asked Jinshi before fainting. Not "Are you okay?" or "Why are you here?" or "Who are you really?"...nope...it's "Can I have the ox bezoar now?" coz that's the most important thing for her 😆 Tf she cares about Jinshi or any royal/noble. And that’s what I love about her 😄 She doesn't care about Suirei and her deeds or what happens after. She just wants the info on making the resurrection medicine.

Maomao is such a fake idgaf-er 😭 That scene of Jinshi carrying Maomao and everyone else bowing their heads was so powerful. As mentioned in another comment, strict regulations were placed on who & when one can look at royalty, so 1) this confirms to us, and Lakan too I think, that Jinshi is royalty (rmmbr everything else is supposedly still conjecture before this). 2) makes sense that IF Jinshi is the emperor's brother, no one recognises him & he can pass off being a eunuch who's head of the rear palace because only a select few knows or even remembers what the brother looks like. 3) there are definitely implications to a person of royal birth carrying out a mere servant out like that, and it's also a confirmation of how important Maomao is to Jinshi (guy just went through a whole assasination attempt but all he cared about was Maomao 😭)

She passed out before being able to process any tactile information about Jinshi's lap. 11:50 Notice everyone has their head lowered so as not to look at Jinshi, you don't look at higher ranked nobility without permission. I figure Jinshi's pace was as fast as he could make it without shaking Maomao.
