wow i am very lost on where this show is even going lol i just checked and realized we're not even halfway through with the series xD there's so much information and a lot of things they'll mention once and then pick up multiple eps later TT but your theories are fun and i'm more or less on the same page! :D

They even threw in a few hints related to that afterwards. So if you're not paying attention then you wouldn't see or rather realize the things that are "out of place". They probably know that the people who watch this show are used to mysteries and are likely to see hints and piece them together easily. So what do you do so you can surprise your audience? Either show them hints very quickly then make them forget about what's happening by showing them the next scene OR make them emotional so they can't think 😆

It would’ve been nice if they did though coz that means they took note of that scene. I was having second thoughts if I should say what episode it was but thinking about it now it’s not really a spoiler 🤔 It’s an important teaser for the future.

I think it might have been in the episode where ange said "maomao's been through it and her memories are starting to feel more vivid right now eh?", but i think they mistook the scene for the scene with the merchand's hated poisoned son. if u know what i mean

But interesting ideas regardless. Looking forward to the upcoming episodes and seeing what you think :) After a current series ends, if you two are up for more of these mystery deduction shows, Dr. Stone is a similar show to TAD, where it solves mysteries but also focuses on teaching real-life science in a more fun and light-hearted fantasy setting. But Death Note is another mystery series if you're looking for a darker crime thriller and drama, trying to theorize and brainstorm motives, philosophy, ethics, justice... will the police catch the killer or not? Also a huge hit internationally for good reason. May be time to add to the list if more thriller and drama are currently something you're itching to watch. But there's also ODDTAXI which is a hidden gem... on one side it's hardboiled murder-mystery, on the other side it's zany and wacky fun. Think a Tarantino movie. Very fun watch the whole way through with lots of twists and turns. Very unique art style too, which Ange would especially enjoy.

Since they are unnamed even in the manga, I suggest to just call the PREVIOUS emperor ...Emperor Pedo and the CURRENT emperor....Emperor Son coz he's the son of Emperor Pedo...just to avoid some confusions 😑.

As I said previously, ep5 is the starting line for puzzle no.1. Now puzzle no.2 has also already started 😁. Anyway, Xiolan is like Maomao's informant in the rear palace since she knows a lot that's going on. Maomao's dad was likely worried at first when she didn't come home but Maomao did say that she wrote a letter to the old lady. She told Maomao's dad and so on. That old lady is such a tsundere. She cares for them both actually despite her attitude towards Maomao 😁

See, the problem with that is that if someone FIGURES OUT that you are smart and think something is obvious... maybe they'll assume that you think that the obvious is never the obvious, and that makes them the ...least obvious ? :D I actually don't know, I'm just adopting Sherlock Holmes's "It's elementary my dear watson." That statement was always a double edge sword for Sherlock. His argument was that "if you eliminate all the impossibilities, then what is left, no matter how improbable, must be truth." Except the flaw in his argument here is that the "pool" of "possibilities and impossibilities" were sampled based on Sherlock's obsevation skills... and that in itself, would be a flaw in his theories, because he'd assume it had to be something AT LEAST improbable (if not impossible) to keep him interested... so he would easily omit to put the "improbable and impossible" on a shelf and then look at the "probably and very likely" premises. Sometimes complex and complicated mysteries would baffle everyone and need Sherlock to solve them, but then Sherlock never struggled with complex mysteries, but he actually would get sometimes caught off guard by ILLOGICAL or "simple" mysteries and he'd jump the shark in his own mind and pay too much attention to the complex stuff and not pay attention to the "simpler" stuff, and thats why (not to be hating on Dr Watson) but that's why he would RELY on Dr John Watson, who was smart enough to keep up with Sherlock's antics and trust him, but he wasn't TOO disconnected from the mundane, so Watson would point out to the "simpler" reasons/causes/clues that Sherlock would miss, and then Sherlock would pull an ange and go Bob the Builder on those theories lol... Moriarty being extremely intelligent as the main antagonist and rival of sherlock would create complex theories to stump sherlock but they'd find themselves on equal footings: sherlock was smart but moriarty was more devious, cunning and ruthless... so sometimes moriarty would intentionally bait out sherlock with a shiny theory/mystery to send him down a rabbit hole, while the answer was actually in open sight, a "simpler" reasoning that sherlock was too busy to think about... Watson would call it out, Sherlock would put it on the shelf, and then later one pick it back up to revisit it with a different point of view when more clues/information is discovered from a different perspective/mindset.

2024-05-05 01:38:58 +0000 UTCOn episode 9, one of the best scenes of the first season for me, it shows that Maomao does not struggle against the power dynamic in place, she's not for it as we see how she details what happens to those below in society, but she has accepted that this is her position and she just does her stuff. She doesn't want to be in trouble or overly involve herself, because she knows that the slightest thing is enough to warrant death, for one with no status. Jinshi was given a reality check here. He is the person in the higher position and he's never had to really come to terms with what it entails. For him, OF COURSE he wouldn't want to execute her. It's outrageous to him to hear that or think so. But that's the thing. Because he fancies her, on a whim or not (the word "toy" was mentioned a couple times, meaning this already happened before Maomao came here) he intends to keep her safe. But in the case of a blunder on her part, it's not a matter of "would he do it". The higher ups would ensure that he executes her, or that were he to refuse, someone else would be put to the task. And she is making him face the facts.

Ahduo was NOT the one that was with the old emperor. The one that was the consort to the old emperor was Lishu (the young girl). Ahduo is the consort that has been with this current emperor for the longest time... in fact, she was his consort when he was prince and therefore... Lishu, at the age of 9, was Ahduo's mother in law in a way. Ahduo is the oldest consort and Lishu is the youngest

Such a stark contrast between the flamboyant hashira and this gentle and caring eunuch :D And Jinshi's VA is also Aqua from Oshi no ko, Maomao's VA is Tornado from OPM and Lihua's VA is Mikasa from AoT. Thought to share just in case :D :D Lihua can be pronounced as Rifa or Lifa btw.
