I love that you said that because that's exactly what Netero meant a couple episodes back when they didn't attack Meruem while he was vulnerable with Komugi. They're there to exterminate the ants because they're supposed to be the monsters who kill and eat people indiscriminately. If they throw aside Komugi's life to take out the beings they think of as monsters (Meruem/Pitou), then the humans will have lost the moral imperative of their mission and will be no better than the "monsters" themselves. Absolutely fantastic scene there with Gon, Killua and Pitou. Each and every single one of them made sense there, character-wise. We know Killua very well now since the writing for him has been stellar throughout but with Gon and Pitou, the unexpected traits they showed here were seeded more subtly and paid off well. And even though it's easy to understand why Gon is being the way he is -- the most selfish and emotional we've seen him yet, like a child throwing a tantrum because he can't get what he wants right this minute -- I'm still pissed at him for speaking that way to Killua. He should know better than anyone else that Killua cares; that him being calm doesn't mean he's indifferent. But as always, Gon's own desires rank above anyone else's perspective or well-being. And Killua will always prioritize and forgive Gon. Someone need to give that boy a hug. Great writing, as hard as it was to watch. Also I agree with you guys, that has absolutely not been 3 minutes. The narrator is such a liar lmao. They might be able to fast forward through movement, but it's just silly to think that people are talking at hyperspeed. Very funny to imagine though.

I completely agree and have said before that while gon and kite relationship could have been fleshed out more, the sheer execution of the episode made up for it. Voice actress killed it and the animation quality shot up 2-3 notches as well. The dynamic flip was great as well and one of the best parts of the arc. Also, notice how gon is sitting and how the king usually sits

It's like he's losing his friend even though they're always together. I think that is part of why in the van after they left NGL he said they would part ways once he gains his nen back
