On the point about why shoot covered his eye, "he had no clear reason to do so" means there was no tangible direct benefit to doing it. But he did it because hes realised that the added stress & restrictions of these hindrances (the leg and covered eye) are forcing him to exceed his potential. like an animal backed into a corner, or the unmatched work productivity in the final hour before a deadline. From a literal perspective covering his eye is only bad, but the indirect benefits of forcing yourself into a state of extreme focus are a net positive. Like how an extremophile species adapts and becomes hardened to its environment

But Ikalgo said "I owe you one" instead of thanks, appreciating what he did without saying the word Killua said not to say.
