Her name is only distinguishable from the word "Cat" by the tone and kanji used to write it. It doesn't translate to Japanese well, but it is why some people seem to say her name differently.

I could see Carlie thought the same. but they were actually nice, totally subverting the trope that women have to be snakes towards each other. one of the many things I love about this show!
