A little correction I think, those aren't just foreigner types of english, I think most are japanese voice actors speaking english (apart from the obvious ones like the british guy). Accents for other countries sound different when speaking English. That's why it feels quite off. If they actually had voice actors from the countries the characters are supposed to be from, you'd hear a clearer variation in 'english accents' from those different countries. For example, when a french person speaks english, you can hear very clearly that they have a french sounding....accent? But here, they had 1 guy speak in a british accent quite well, then the rest is very questionable japanese to english accents.

2024-04-23 19:06:44 +0000 UTCYeah it's supposed to parallel Nagi and Reo. That whole game against each other, Reo couldn't stop obsessively focusing on Nagi and Isagi. Then when he lost, Reo couldn't understand why Nagi didn't pick him when they're supposed to be partners. To him, objective merit mattered less than their personal friendship. But Blue Lock is supposed to be a training ground to be the best, which is why Nagi tells Reo he's the one who isn't fulfilling their promise. Here, Bachira was the opposite of Reo. Despite similarly being too focused on Isagi and Rin, he managed to realize that if he didn't change he was going to be left behind. By shedding his emotional dependence on Isagi, he became "the person who chooses, instead of waiting to be chosen" (what Isagi said to Reo when Nagi dropped him). He can now objectively choose Isagi based on merit, which would have preserved Isagi's respect for him if Rin hadn't made the choice himself lmao. Their friendship is healthier too since Bachira wanting to play with Isagi is no longer about using him to feed the "monster" but because he just genuinely enjoys Isagi as a person and as a player. Reo, if he gets through this selection, needs to experience a similar growth or Nagi really will leave him behind.
