Angry Frieren is epic Frieren

HansCent

So bad at catching

na youngin

Well, in the manga it was much more ambiguous and we only saw the aftermath.

Ecodude

Spigel is a monster from the mythycal era. Which we has been told many time that it has magic and shit that make no sense and human can't understand it at all. Much like demon magic

Hoa Trương

I get the idea behind your logic, but it still doesn't work in the real world. iCloud DOES spend energy in creating your content. The data gets transferred over the internet to the storage medium in the iCloud servers. That means electricity is moving the HDDs or SSDs and the CPU is generating the 0s and 1s that make up your data. If the iCloud servers don't have enough storage space (mana), your files cannot be copied over. It's like saying iCloud has no limit and can copy all of Google's archives + Amazon's archives + Facebook's archives + Weibo's archives + Niconico's archives etc etc. That'd be impossible, because iCloud does not have infinite storage (mana). The same can be said for the Spiegel. Where does it get the mana to create and control the creations? How can a replica with as much mana as Frieren's be under the control of another being which has lesser mana than it? It's like Aura's Scale concept.

JN

Laufen's ability isn't teleporting. It's just high speed movement. Frieren mentioned it's called Jirwel and is a folk magic used by people living in the mountains for hunting.

CornCobBob

Being delusional works in her favor. I'm not saying that seeing it once is enough for her to master visualizing it. Also, when the mana barriers are destroyed they're never cut but shattered, so of course she could never imagine cutting it. Mass and material definitely comes into play though.

CornCobBob

She can’t imagine cutting an entire stone structure like that hence why she doesnt do it. She‘s delusional, but even her delusions have limits

Nah I’d win

I hope Fern gets to learn some hypnosis spells. It's not a combat spell so won't go against Frieren's restriction, and it can create lots of funny scenes.

The creature's name means 'Mirror' in German. Hence, the way I see it, it's like turning on iCloud and have it automatically store a copy of my files. The iCloud does not need to spend any energy in creating the content. Since the creature is unable to move by itself, and its power is restricted to the ruins, I believe someone in the ancient times created it and imbued it with the copy-n-paste power. There might be also tools buried in the tombs that helped the copying. Once the creature is dead, the chain is broken, thus no more clones.

Li Hong

Frieren has a lot of spells that she does not use in her daily journeys. We could see from the fight with the clone that she was able to 'teleport' like Laufen, a skill that can be useful in solving obstacles or quests (even mimics), but she prefers to observe and come up with a more manual solution. I'm unsure whether this is due to her personality or influence from Flamme or Himmel.

Li Hong

You know I only recently realized Ubel looks like Ai Hayasaka but with Green Hair.

JN

I just had a thought: Frieren's mana is MASSIVE. How on earth can a creature much weaker than her with presumably less mana than her, create and control multiple replicas of people like her and Sense with just as large a mana pool? That's broken. Doesn't really make sense either with their universe's rule on magic as well.

JN

May have been mentioned before but the VA for Himmel is also; Garfiel from ReZero, Noya from Haikyuu and Genya from Demon Slayer. He features a lot on the channel lol

PopMonk

Spiegel means mirror, so the replicas are actual mirror images of the characters. Ange getting shameless as soon as Methode is on screen :D

Phil

Her spell doesn't work that well against stone wall. Even though she can damage it, all it did is a mere scratches. So the material can definitely affect her spell. And i wouldn't agreed she could have just imagine cutting hard object like metal armor just because she witness someone else cuttibg it. Like, mana shield isn't unbreakable or uncuttable. There sure is time it broke and Ubel know that clearly well, but the core fundamental of the mana shield is to block spell and it affect Ubel imagination and believe to the core.

Hoa Trương

Remember, she learns empathetically. If she see's armor being cut up close by like say seeing Stark cleave through some with his axe she can then get a feel for what cutting metal is like then she can probably do it also with Reelseidan. Land remarks that she's the kind to learn by never learning the principles behind the magic, so she probably never even opened up grimoire or studies. A lot of what she does is just ignoring the principles and relying on her instinct and imagination. When she see's Sense's hair magic she doesn't see it as a formula of Hair + manipulation magic + countless defensive magic barriers like everyone does. Instead, she uses her instinct, ignores everything else and reduces it down to just Hair. And hair is something she can visualize cutting. Remember her spell can cut anything she thinks it can and it can cut stone walls, so she is able to imagine cutting stone because she's seen it before.

CornCobBob

like she's hiding a knife back there.

For episode 26: Frieren's clone essentially did something 99% of mages cannot. Create an attack from nothing. Everything we've seen is visualized. All the spells are something mages can see or touch or envision in their head. The clone used a spell that is none of those things. Basically like a force attack from Star Wars and we can see how powerful it was against Fern who is incredibly strong. That's why Fern was talking about the height of magic. She knows Frieren is capable of creating spells from nothing at all.

Jarren Jenkins

Bruh. That spell that copy frieren used was the OLD soul track that broke real Frieren’s spell before Fern hit the clone with massive soul track spells. Fern was strong enough to gain copy Frierens attention. That right there was telling us that Fern was, indeed, a fuckin problem. So because of that, copy Frieren was FORCED to use the so called “spell” to keep Fern in check. Forcing Frieren to “finish” her copy

Nancchi

When Ikumi Hasegawa is voicing a character, you know its gonna be a cute and innocent best waifu: Lena (86), Kita (Bocchi the Rock), Rishe (7th Timeloop), Übel ... oh... wait ...

Alexiel Knight

Here's my take on the magic ideology: Basically if you think it can be possible then it is, but it is hard for humans to think of impossible things as possible. (the example was an ant imagining stomping a dragon) and it is not that Ubel can think of anything as possible rather that if there is ANY possible way that she can see, she will see it... the example was the teacher she killed, everyone was focused on the fact that they knew this cloak had a ton of magic protections so they couldn't see a way past them, but she just focused on the fact that the cloak is made of cloth, and she knows that cloth can be cut, so it IS possible. So she is not unlimited in her power, but if there is a chance, she's going to take that chance... so with Sense it was the same... everyone got beat by her because they just saw her hair as powerful magic, but Ubel was just looking at it as hair, so hair is meant to be cut.

MelanieRS

she used it naturaly before learning about magic so we can call it her natural original spell

Mobi_fiufiu

You didn't notice, the thing that frieren copy used on fern is the same spell that frieren used to kill demon who attacked her village when she was a kid in her flashback to moment when she met flamme

Mobi_fiufiu

Ubel's magic lets her cut anything that she can reasonably imagine to be cut (Hair, cloth, bodies). She lost to Wirbel because he, and many other mages, would able to block her spell with even basic defensive magic. Defensive magic is designed to block spells so she can't imagine cutting it. Basically if you can cut something with a blade irl, she can cut it, regardless of how strong it is. On the other hand, she probably wouldn't be able to cut things like armor. It's not that strong of a spell but she just happens to hard counter Burg and Sense so it looks broken.

Steven Tran

Damn, I never noticed that. But they did confirm that Fern wasn’t immune to restraining magic so I guess Methode got her like that. So yes Methode > Fern xd

Mango

It’s so funny how Fern was afraid of Frieren getting hurt in that fight and then Frieren is just like “don’t worry…… it’s not me who will be hurt”

Mango

When Frieren broke the Spiegel, they showed the clones disspearsing, but for some reason at the Methode scene Ferns clone already went up in smoke before that. So, Methode > Fern?

dani oz

Frieren: You can kill me Fern: So that was a fucking lie

ONEEIGHTEEN

I like how Ubel has her hands behind her back a lot of time. I dont mind when other character does it but when Ubel does it it kinda makes me a bit uncomfortable.

Decaf

Frieren update!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Mango

Your ability to ascertain Serie's mourning in ep 25 was godly.

Dolfy

Übel supremacy.
