This show has never once said that pride is "inside of Subaru" lol. time to let that go.

But he does have the sloth witch factor now (As said earlier in the season that when he killed betelguese, it chose him as its next host). We also know the gluttony and greed witch factors whereabouts (the 2 sin archbishops at the start of the season who attacked Rem). Important to note is you're now only missing Lust and Sloth for witches you haven't seen. This episode had: Greed, Pride, Wrath, Gluttony and then Envy in that exact order. One thing that irk'ed me was they never discussed the snake ;-; I wanted to know about the 2 remaining beasts

I already have to do thousands of software architecture documents at work so I'm in a writing mode but I already have to spend hours refining and reviewing documents for my work and I'm not going to sit here perfecting my ADHD brain dump of thoughts for others. Some people like the details I put it in because it creates some connections to different plot threads and how multiple plot threads have similar themes or shared payout in the end. Those who want to read them? Great. Those who don't? Also great. But thanks for the feedback. This was indeed a longer one

There isnβt going to be to be too much more setup from here. Things will still come and call questions forward but expect more things like this going forward.

2024-03-20 21:12:36 +0000 UTCThere's a lot of moving pieces and plots, and i definitely enjoyed the show on a second rewatch that than the first, especially season 2 but you already picked up on something that i missed on the first watch: Garfield acts differently around subaru every time he restarts a loop, based on what subaru is doing, maybe he's sniffing the witch on him like Rem did (and what carlie is suggesting), or maybe it's something else like subaru's actions and making them trust him (like Ram did), or maybe it's the context of the situation (like Otto did), but yeah. Also, @ange, again, you may be mixing up the witches again so i suggest you create some cue cards with the pictures of the witches and stick them above your monitor lol and what people say about them. So far Echidna's the tea witch, witch of greed. Seems very hard to read but what we do know about her is that she's not inheritingly just being destructive to subaru because it's in her best interest to learn about things and subaru's a source of knowledge for her. (i nearly cried when subaru broke down when he realized he can tell echidna about his return by death). So the thing you need to differentiate is that, AS FAR AS WE KNOW, and what's been hinted at HEAVILY in the last last scene of this VERY same episode: the witch that gave subaru the power to return by death is the witch of envy, and it seems that its could be infinite because she has a "perverted goal" according to echidna and that she needs to get to that goal and will restart subaru's day until that happens. But once that goal or milestone is achieved, like stopping the witch's cult, all the casualties that happened (like Rem) would be cemented in that fixed time because witch of envy satella has no "need" to make subaru return by death because he's a step closer to her goals. That's why his checkpoint keeps moving forward "conveniently". Beetlejuice (LOL) is the leader of the witch's cult. He has the witch's SLOTH factor (unseen hand) but he seemed to be in love not wit the witch of slot but someone else. and constantly saying "lovelovelolveolvoove Love love all i nthe name of love!" When subaru exposed beetlejuice to the witch that's connected to subaru, she rejected him. Beetlegeuse is the only one that ever EVER called Subaru "are you Pride, the archbishop of Pride?", but beetlegeuse is not exactly the most sane person around here, and his knowledge is not omnipresent. As far as he knows, if he knows the other bishops for example, like a group of pirates in the sea, if a ship is known to not have a captain, then someone comes in taking charge, one might think that this is the new captain that filled the seat. In other words, pride doesnt seem to have an achbishop (why? dont know) but so beetlegeuse thought it was subaru, whether right or wrong. Personally I would step away from saying that the witch is INSIDE subaru, probably would make it easier for you to understand. I dont know anything past this season but my theory that i've been doign is that every time we saw the "witch inside subaru" extend her hand and grab his heart, it was almost as if it just manifested through a dark purple portal... like Subaru's SHADOW powered mana gate" and his miasma then gets stronger similar to when he uses his shamac, so it always just felt like his mana gate is being used by the witch to grab his heart metaphorically, instead of she's just INSIDE him all the time. But even if u were to think that there's a witch inside subaru, it's been hinted at HEAVILY in the last scenery that when he looked at "satella" the witch of envy or at least, what subaru faced at the end, we saw imagery of the witch grabbing his heart and the same voice that keepts saying "love you" and the same sound effects when subaru gets his heart grabbed. So IF u had to believe anything, it would be that the witch "inside" subaru (or at least, grabbign subaru's heart) is not the witch of pride or greed or whatever, but the witch of envy herself.). Now, here's something that got confused by you , carlie, when subaru was talking to echidna immediately after the rabbits scene, you were a bit rattled up so you guys didnt notice the sentence, but echidna said "remmeber last time you drank my tea? it strengthened your witch's SLOTH FACTOR inside you to make you able to survive in my world for another visit without being torn apart." She didn't say Pride, or envy or anytihng, she specifically said SLOTH factor. So in the discussion you said she strenghened his pride factor and that's why subaru was so confused to talk to typhoon." that's just factually wrong, you mixed up the witches again :P but to be fair that episode confused a lot. So Typhon, the witch of pride, snuck in without being invited, and interrupted the interrogation plans of subaru and echidna that they had for the other witch (of gluttony, daphnee). Typhon, the withc of pride, held on to subaru's hand and said "im surprised you dont feel pain, so you must be GOOD in the heart" (i personalyl believe that means that an evil person would have been in complete agony by her, like the narcisistic version of pride emotion). But subaru wasn't in pain so that told Typhoon, from her test, that Subaru is a GOOD hearted person (regardles of what's happening with the witch of envy etc), BUT his arm and leg and body DID shatter, so even though he IS good and doesnt feel the agonizing pain of that touch, HE sees himself as a sinner, HE sees himself as a broken selfish person). Typhoon herself just kinda snuck in, did a bit of a test, and then Witch of Wrath got angry at Typoon for going too far with her test and snuck in and put subaru back to gather out of pure anger. Daphnee the witch of GLUTTONY made the 3 great mabeasts with what seemed to be "good" intensions (question mark?) but it obviosuly seems more like neutral "ya'll figure it out, and fight to survive but u will never go hungry again...whichever of you that wins" . And finally, the last one that showed up, witch of envy.. with a very familiar look. she kept telling subaru that she loves him in a sound and voice that is very familiar to us. But yet again, garfield is acting different this time too. And subaru got flashbacks of the witch grabbing his heart and returnign him by death while looking AT the witch of envy... so if anything, i'd forget about witch of pride being inside him for a bit, because the show's implying toherwise.. but personally ive been having more fun and less confusion when i think less about which witch (eyy) is INSIDE subaru, because it gets confusing to discuss... and i just always thought that the witch, no matter where she is, just uses subaru's shadow mana gate to portal in and bitch slap him a few times when needed. but that can maybe allow the gate to be used by others? Not sure... this is just a theory, i've only seen season 1 and 2 of anime and im guessing stuff randomly with a tinfoil hat
