2024-04-14 17:59:51 +0000 UTCAre the numbered ones main suggestions? If so, I think, if it's me, for the sports section, Diamond no Ace should be there instead of Chihayafuru. This is mainly coz they're more familiar with baseball than karuta so it'd likely be easier for them to follow, that's it. Nothing against Chihayafuru. I quite like the show. Hanebado, I've thought of suggesting that as well but decided against it coz of the plot 😑 It wanted some drama but didn't really pull it off. It started good, it was 10/10 for me but the thing with the mom was what made it fall to 5/10. But animation is amazing. Also, All Out is good as well. 😁 Another is SK∞, love the animation here. Yuri on Ice!! If they don't mind some yaoi. For the music part... I've been suggesting Given, again assuming they don't mind it's main genre which is Yaoi 😆. It's more on drama too but the music is awesome. I feel like Carlie will use up 2 boxes of tissue for this show especially when Mafuyu starts singing their first song, if they ever react to this. Hopefully 🤞 Another one for music is Sound Euphonium, there's good balance between drama and music. Of course, it's KyoAni so everything is good👍 Next is, Carole & Tuesday. Not much drama here. More on Slice of Life and 🔥 music. Lastly, Show by Rock (the first one). I suggest this show purely for Shingancrimsonz. I want them to meet Shingancrimsonz 😆 And the songs are 🔥 (For both seasons). This show is 80% music and 20% everything else. For Action/Sc-Fi...They've already reacted to Demon Slayer. There are a lot shows for this genre. And I mean A WHOLE LOT OF IT 😳 You have great suggestions just wanna add Read or Die (R.O.D), Saga of Tanya the Evil, Bungou Stray Dogs, Shy, Lycoris Recoil, Re:Creators, Dead Mount Death Play, Mobile Suit gundam: The witch from Mercury, Gangsta, Akudama Drive, Black Clover, Fire Force, Strike Witches, Canaan, Dororo, Fairy Gone, God Eater, Juuni Taisen, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress...ugh there are so much. I can't possibly list all of them here 😣. SoL Comedy Romance...just like the previous genre there are a lot of shows for this one as well. There's Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, Ouran High School Host Club and Komi Can't communicate, Kiznaiver, Plastic Memories, Gokusen, Interview with Monster Girls, Love Lab, My roommate is a Cat, Sounan Desu Ka?, Tanaka-kun is Always Listless, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte...there are so much more but I'm just going to stop here for now 😆 Mystery 🤔 There are also: Detective School Q, Millionaire Detective, Odd Taxi, Gosick, Undead Girl Murder Farce, The Promised Neverland, Terror in Resonance, Beautiful Bones- Sakurako's Investigation, Bungou Stray Dogs is in this genre as well, Moriarty the Patriot. I think they should also have Horror 😁 Dark Gathering, Another, Hell Girl and Corpse Party are the only ones I've watched. There's also School-Live! and Meiruko-chan but I'm not sure coz it more slice of life and comedy for these two. What I said are just my opinions and some additional suggestions that I think are also good. Didn't mean to bombard with so much shows. I just get excited to share some anime. I know your suggestions are for Carlie & Ange but thanks to that I have more shows to check out now...apart from the currently airing ones 😆

I don't know my religion well enough but maybe that's some kind of blasphemy. Alternatively it's because of Light practically wanting to become some sort of god of justice which might be an issue? idk these are the only two things I can personally think of but yeah. Didn't even know Carlie was heavily religious lol never heard them talk about it. EDIT: It's been a while since I watched Death Note but doesn't the show explicitly refer to the shinigami as ''Angels of Death''? I think the whole idea of them being Angels but looking the way they do and representing death might also be an issue lol.

Obviously that doesn’t entirely mean she wouldn’t like the show but I have seen some people like in tik tok or in YouTube comments kind of offended by the portrayal of angels and of characters like Adam. (Not often but I have seen them). I even saw someone agree with Adam that sinners shouldn’t be allowed to be rehabilitated 💀. On one hand it’s easy to say it’s just a show who cares but I’m not religious at all so idk I feel like it’s kind of unfair to say that. But idk maybe it wouldn’t bother her at all 🤷🏻♀️. I just got the vibes it might a little lol. But that was it.

The community response was childish, honestly. Yes, the main character was a creep. But at least it was explained well and the characters in the show are so multifaceted, including the creepy MC. The positives outweigh the 3 or so cringy scenes, IMO.

Plus, mostly my opinion but i strongly believe its true, those mainstream anime are so popular because people have grown up with them,its a part of their childhood,they are not that great though. For example i loved Fairy Tail so much, ever since i got a bit experienced in anime i can say for sure that it's a very mid ranged choice

I imagine that's what they pick from for the polls. EDIT: they've also said they like to followup shows with similar/same genres. So expect hxh to be followed by a shounen, blue lock by another sports anime and so on. This pol being a frieren replacement means that anything following it up will be a similar vibe, as we can see from the currently presented options.

2024-03-21 20:36:13 +0000 UTCif anyone's only takeaway from the show is "old era bad because women had few rights" and THAT'S IT then they've completely missed the plot 😅 more than anything AD highlights how these women overcame their horrible circumstances, the cunning yet brilliant measures they took to survive in such an environment that's made to cage them, how women use what means they have to gain power in said cage, why calling them "vain" for pursuing beauty is simplistic as beauty/looks was one of the few ways these women could have actual sway & influence and therefore control over their future and security, how many of the women in the show may have disagreed on each other's methods but understood the complex reasons behind their questionable choices

But it’s not doing anything I haven’t seen before, nor is the writing particularly deep or complex. It’s a smart show with the different applications of medicine and some decent mystery aspects and I like the main character, just don’t understand how it’s top tier or peak like people keep saying. Especially when comparing it to a show like Frieren which is actually top tier.

You might see "voluptuous" women sometimes, but it's because it actually makes sense in the context *no spoilers*, so it shouldn't bother you. For example, if there were a scene with women changing in a locker room, some animes would make it extra sus for no reason, and other animes, like AD, would just use it as a setting, so it doesn't get annoying. Hope it helps !

It's probably because the characters that are the subject of fan service willingly dress themselves to have sex appeal (you'll find a solid reason for that if you watch it), and they are all adult characters who are not infantilized.

So minimal it's easy to ignore, and majority of it is actually matter-of-fact commentary from the female mc, not like some creepy/distasteful oggling. for a story with references to brothels & palace harems, AD has way less/milder fanservice than some set-in-highschool stories tbvh

2024-03-19 19:12:25 +0000 UTCOkay yea so if that’s the case like I said personally I wouldn’t consider the show to have fan service, there are definitely no crazy jiggle physics or panty shots, the most you see are some well endowed women or some buff guys but again usually there’s relevance to that. I agree with @michalovesanime, I want to keep things spoiler free for you and others so I’d suggest watching the first maybe 5 minutes of the first episode (or the whole thing obviously if you enjoy it) and if anything within that first 5 minutes makes you uncomfortable then you may not enjoy the show, but if not then I don’t think you’d have any issues going forward

It all is part of the world building and social structure. Thats why I hope it wins ,as much as I liked my dress up, theres so much unnecessary and lowkey creepy ( seeing the age of the characters ) fanservice. A bit of it makes sense due to the type of story but it took me out of the show quite a few times .

It’s clear you guys want to watch it, as you’ve mentioned a few times, but you put it up against shows that have recency bias supporting them, in this case AD.
