Ange good job on clearing things up with your explanations! Seemed like you were following along pretty well! One thing about the 2nd episode though: Didn't Subaru give Betty Betelgeuse's gospel when he first went back to the mansion at the beginning of season 2? Or am I remembering wrong?

But maybe one day, when you least expect it, he'll have to take that frozen sandwich out, defrost it, and nibble on the tastiness of it but not share it :P At least, how things went between me and my siblings when we fought over leftover sandwiches :P

That whole thing is part of the main timeline that Subaru stays on when he dies. The only reason it’s warped is because of Rem being gone. Since she is gone that whole event still happened but in rams mind it’s warped to “remember” something else that didn’t actually happen. The power of Gluttony is pretty OP to warp minds like that when someone is eaten.

2024-03-08 18:50:45 +0000 UTCI will say, re:zero sets up more dangling plot threads than any other show I've ever seen in my life (and I've watched a lot of friggin shows). Binging it doesn't really help, since Subaru dies so many times you start to forget what happened in which timeline. If anything you guys are more ahead of the curve since you're analyzing each episode at a time. But, have faith, it's all gonna come together in an amazing way, kashira!

2024-03-08 18:20:58 +0000 UTCThe first time I watched season 2 I had a similar problem as you guys where lots of things are being introduced and it's hard to remember all of it. But I will say that the show pretty much answered every single question by the end and showed us everything we wanted to know, even if it takes a few weeks of setup to get there, which is understandably frustrating but for me personally, the payoff was so damn worth it that my initial lower than season 1 rating turned into a straight up 10/10 (and I've seen roughly 500 anime so thats saying something for me) by the end of the show. I hope you'll experience it similarly!

Early half of season 2 sets up a lot of things that will just get explained throughout the whole season. It’s very much worth it and I think all the things you’re asking for this season You’ll get. So just hang in there and don’t stress too much and enjoy!
