Ange I get that some people just don't cry. The first time I watched this, was with friends and as soon as Kaori showed up in spirit form, I ran out of the house shouting 'noooooooo' and had to do a run around the block before I could settle down and be ready for it. I've never been able to put a reason to why I am okay with how painful this show is and you've nailed it on the head. It wasn't about how she died but how she lived, and how moments in our lives can be both tragically bitter while being undeniably full and beautiful, even if it is as small as a ripple from a cherry blossom petal falling in the water. Watching it again with you both has reminded me of that time I was watching it with friends. Thank you.

This anime gave me a newfound respect for the instrument and I went back and brushed off the dust. Highly recommend listening to Liszt's Liebestraum No 3 which is what I've been working on. EPIC piece of music.

Just put the call on mute for like 15 seconds and then was like "sorry, I was having some technical issues with the microphone"

On that episode, she lists the things she was able to do with Kousei that day. Even though it was just a couple of insignificant things like helping a lost child, she knows she won't be there for long and those moments she spent with Kousei meant so much to her and she breaks down crying. Also the references to Ichigo Doumei is really beautiful as well

I watched this show for first year in college, and enrolled in a piano class there very next semester. Was one of the things that got me back into music after not playing for a while, so it holds a special place in my heart. Glad you both enjoyed it <3
