Also favorite season is so hard lol, the narrative and character writing is so important across every little thing that happens in this series I think it just comes down to fav team/characters? For me I’d say s2 because guess who my favorite teams are? Coughs yeah seijoh, nekoma, and fukurodani lol. S2 for the training camp that got the ball rolling for SO MUCH down the line with kuroo dragging tsukki into blocking practice and bokuto for That Speech. And seijoh2 for all the lessons you could take from oikawa and iwaizumi! Like remember how devastating the loss was for karasuno in seijoh1? Oiks and iwa lost every single time they played against shiratorizawa for 6 YEARS and that was crushing to oikawa’s psyche but man did not back down ONCE and iwaizumi was right there unwavering beside him all the way through. And Oikawa was daunted by the wall he couldn’t overcome despite how hard he worked and despaired in the face of “genius,” but he ALWAYS had faith in his team, that he could go higher, could bring the absolute best out of them, and they had that faith in him in return. And when push came to shove he believed in himself, that he wasn’t limited to this. To have the strength to never regret any of the decisions that brought him to seijoh, his love for his teammates, and to continue moving forward. Like high school volleyball isn’t the end for him, man will NOT peak in high school, this is just the beginning of his volleyball journey! Also dude has just got such banger lines lol, “talent is something you make bloom, instinct is something you polish” as he points and makes that crazy long backwards jump set to iwa? “Don’t you ever forget my worthless pride” to ushijima? Come on. Also it says a lot about oikawa that even though he hasn’t been to nationals a single time, ushijima and kageyama, two of arguably the most skilled players in the entire series, were looking up to him/learning from him or wanting him for their own team.

Like inarizaki are such a strong team you might’ve had doubts we’d beat them at the beginning, but as soon as they show nekoma in the bracket well… the battle of the garbage dump has been set up since s1 and reinforced further in s2 so narratively speaking, they can’t just NOT have that happen 😂 but I think the way they won was so unexpected and poetic that I’m still super satisfied regardless! Also question for you both!! You had a feeling we’d win inarizaki because of nekoma and that whole set up, but now that this decisive showdown IS happening, what do you think comes next? Will we win nekoma? We’ve both finally made it here to nationals so do we bow out here amongst our closest friends and rivals? Or if we do win nekoma, will we win all the way? Or who do you think we’ll face after them/what team do you think we could potentially lose to? I’d love to hear your predictions and bets before you go and see the movie!
