One thing I will reveal for you guys so it makes sense now as to how we got to today with Emilia being at Roswaals mansion. This is revealed in the first OVA. Roswaal heard about Emilia and went down to the Forest where she is to recruit her to take a spot in the Royal selection. Puck and Roswaal fought and eventually settled things and Emilia decided to join Roswaal and take his backing so she could go for the royal throne and in exchange Roswaal will help her with the frozen people in the forest. That is all info basically given in the first OVA and explains how she ended up with Roswaal

The viewing order you've described, in my opinion, is the best way to experience Re:Zero, yes, but that's no longer an option. I was merely throwing out an alternative option, as it sounds like they won't be watching Memory Snow, even off camera (unless they said something to the contrary - I haven't watched their reaction yet). They've told us that OVAs perform poorly on YouTube, which kinda surprised me. I have no experience with running a reaction channel, so I'll have to take their word for it. They were willing to reverse course on skipping Frozen Bond, which is great, but I do feel sad that their decision to skip Memory Snow was based on YouTube analytics when this is Patreon. Just to be clear, I understand why clicks and views matter, so I see their point of view, but the outcome is still bittersweet. At the end of the day, I'm glad they asked us for feedback, and I'm looking forward to watching Frozen Bond later tonight. I'm not sure if they'll see this, but if they do, I have a suggestion. It might be better to run a poll next time, instead of asking for comments. Not everyone on Patreon likes to post comments, so I think a poll might be better to gauge the community.

2024-02-18 23:59:27 +0000 UTCMost of the point watching it is lost watching it after Season 2 as it has foreshadowing for the 2nd season and explains some of the magic system, builds on the characters heading into Season 2. If they thought it was a waste of time now, it’d be an even bigger waste of time then. Regardless It’s weird to skip a completely cannon episode of a show because it is an “OVA”. There are several episodes of Mob Psycho that are less integral to the plot than Memory Snow. They’re as important as Gojo’s backstory arc is in JJK (even more-so I’d argue) to the story. Memory Snow and Frozen Bond tell one complete story and focus heavily on Emilia. A lot of the point of Memory Snow and its “Slice of Life” feeling is made to contrast with how lonely and empty feeling Frozen Bond is.

2024-02-18 22:09:01 +0000 UTCThanks so much for doing a reaction to this OVA. It does raise a lot of questions which lead nicely into season 2. Think of it as a season 2 prologue, which is why there were a lot of requests to watch to it. The ice statues and snow at the mansion relate to the events of the first OVA. If you do find the time, its a fun entertaining watch.
