Predicted a lot of what was happening before they showed in the episode or next episode. Just like how Ange wrote Mob Psycho, it seems Carlie wrote Frieren :)

2024-02-16 04:09:57 +0000 UTCFrieren is now the one show I will be keep on checking updates on this channel. In my own experience, of course the fights are absolutely amazing, enjoyed it throughout. But the moment I saw the smooth animation when Stark putting on his jacket and Fern taking off her robe, my jaw immediately dropped and couldn't believe my eyes. They threw us a curve ball, showing exceptional animation skills in the most casual way possible and, it's a direct hit.

So Graf Granat knew that it was the Draht or atleast suspected it.

2024-02-15 20:05:35 +0000 UTCLETS GOOO!! <3 Cool little detail for episode 8 - when Frieren kills Draht and says, "that's one down," she uses the word "ippiki," which means small animal in Japanese LOL, savage. I liked and completely agree with Ange's opinion on how well written the demons are in this story. I'm sure you'll even appreciate it more after episode 10. Many other shows tend to write toward one of the extremes of either humanizing demons or making them absolutely malicious and evil, which assumes they understand human morals. But here we gain so much insight into how their minds work; they are not necessarily malicious or evil as they are incapable of understanding almost all human values/morals/society (the only exception we've seen is they all have immense pride in their magic). For example, consider the demon girl who killed one of the villager's daughter in episode 7 and was still taken in by the village. She senses the daily bloodlust of the mother who lost her daughter and tries to solve this potential threat by killing the village chief and offering his daughter as a "replacement" daughter for the mother. A genuine attempt at a compromise - not out of kindness, nor out of malice, purely for survival/eliminating a threat and obviously with a complete inability to understand humans. They really are just like many wild animals in our world who hunt prey, which we wouldn't consider evil, and just so happen to have developed the ability to speak the human language as a means to hunt. However, they surely are dangerous and must always be ruthlessly treated as a threat as Frieren has demonstrated. Can't wait until the next episode, the best one yet in my opinion! There will be so much to discuss :)

Before this chapter in the manga most people assumed that "Sousou no Frieren" just implied the fact that she outlives all her friends but then Lugner reveal to the reader that in fact is a title given to her by demons bc she "sent so many demons to their deaths". Just a fun wordplay with Japanese Kanjis made by the author.
