We heard you guys, and it seems as though most of you really want to see our reaction to the Emilia OVA. So we will do that for you and post it to Patreon as a full length reaction. Early jellies will also get access to this reaction. The first Episode of Season 2 will also go live right at the end of the week!

Hey Giang, I suppose you can always pitch ideas every now and then as long it doesn't become a robot-soulless spambot on all posts you know? Like i'm still trying to convince to Ange and Carlie to watch Dragon Ball Z abridged and MY goal would be achieved lol. But they actually do run polls every couple of weeks for immediate next movies, or shows, And they run "X show being replaced by What?" polls when a season ends, AND they also do Tier list movies, like the last anime one they have here, and they'll go through anime or show openings or lore or trivia or whatever, and then they'll rank it for us how likely it may end up being considered to being a contender for a reaction series vs "i'm sorry but i just dont see it" approach. That way your expectatins can be real and you'll learn to see what kind of vibe these 2 may enjoy as not everyone likes everything. I actually haven't seen Assassination Classroom yet, but i'm told it's good. I'm struggling to catch up with all the shows :P

2024-02-15 14:36:11 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if you'll see this comment before you record the reactions, but while it's unconventional, you could also watch the Memory Snow OVA after finishing S2, assuming that the issue here is not having enough time. It sounds like you really want to start the next season, so I understand why it'd be difficult to do that AND watch two 2.5 episode-length OVAs in the same week. If you decide not to watch Memory Snow off camera, I hope you'll consider watching it with us later. But seriously, again, thank you for watching Frozen Bonds. I don't think you'll regret that decision.

2024-02-15 14:05:52 +0000 UTCIt feels like Frozen Bonds, the OVA considered to be more plot relevant, is often considered to be the less popular OVA, at least among the reactors I've watched. I'm not sure if it's because of tone (one OVA is light and comedic, the other is not), or if it's because of the cast (one OVA has a full cast, the other does not), but when I compare the reactions of Frozen Bonds to Memory Snow, it feels like one is enjoyed more than the other. Sometimes the reactor outright states this, while other times, you can tell from the reactor's energy. Both of the OVAs are canon, both add to the lore, both are relevant to the overall plot, and both could (technically) be skipped without causing too much confusion during S2... but I think it's better to watch them both than to skip. Still, it's better that we're getting 1 reaction, instead of no reactions, so this is a win. It's a bittersweet win, but a win all the same.

Will you be watching Memory Snow (OVA #1) on your own time, without recording a reaction, or will you be skipping it completely?

2024-02-14 19:59:41 +0000 UTCThere’s quite a bit of stuff from Memory Snow that is expanded upon in Season 2. Is it probably the least important episode of the show to watch? Yeah, probably, but it is canon not “filler”. It introduces concepts about the magic system, develops the characters, explains how Emilia got to the mansion, and has the first mention (in the anime.) of a vastly important character in Season 2.
