All I hope for is when the Gek boys do watch Haikyuu, they keep an open mind and don't miss important dialogues/scenes (one of the many reasons why I love Carlie & Ange is they go back to anything they miss)! I know for sure Carter and Jack will like it but not sure about the rest of the guys 🙏

Even though they went to national before, the fact they are still rough makes them like the karasuno of their district. The match is not a upward battle. Its a leveled laying ground.

2024-02-15 11:05:44 +0000 UTCthat was one of my favorite moments in manga and i hate how anime did my boys dirty by giving them mid section moment just before miya twins backstory. IF i remember correctly the finger pointing at kinoshita and fist in the air was the end of the volume which meant it took a while before manga readers got to see the continuation of haikyuu and they had plenty of time to think about kinoshita's scene and give that moment its rightful glory. But in anime it feels like its glossed over and most of reactors i watched just forget kinoshita even had a thing in the episode because of how much its overshadowed with miya twins backstory and Atsumu's insanely low overhand set

2024-02-15 10:42:36 +0000 UTCthere is so much parallels to unpack in these few episodes. first i want to say my favorite boi Kita finally arrived and seeing someone else falling in love with him as quickly as i did always warm my heart. I am yet to see someone who dont like Kita for whatever reason. I have to disagree with Ange when he calls Kita the profesional because in my opinion that cant be further from truth. He is the definition of Average, at least in his eyes. He is not capable of pulling off mindblowing receives like nishinoya but he will never miss average receive. He will never pull the killer serve like oikawa or kageyama but he wont miss the court either or simply give enemies free ball, he will never be able to smash the spike as strong as aran or ushiwaka but he will never miss the ball or give enemies free point. He will never be genius like Kageyama but he will never slack either and will always do his best. He is reliable like Daichi in that he does not stand out and does not have any special abilities but what he can do he is consistent with it and never fails. He is ultimate average boy and i think his story parallels beautifully with oikawa's because oikawa had complex from just being average player and he tried to compensate for it by doing reckless stuff. Instead of working on what he can do and making it more consistent oikawa decides to go for all or nothing and pull off things that are high risk but high reward. that is how and why he came up with his killer serves that are super strong and insanely fast but in return he risks missing a lot, or if he goes for power instead accuracy he would serve directly at libero. Oikawa could not accept the fact he has a ceiling so he tried everything in his power to break it even if it meant lack of accuracy and consistency, the definition of "all or nothing"... meanwhile Kita saw he has ceiling and accepted it. Instead of working on breaking the ceiling he simply worked on his repetition and made sure that whatever is within his capabilities he will always pull it off. Beautiful contrast between two amazingly written characters. Also we get backstory or miya twins and at first sight Atsumu seem to be a lot like kageyama back in the days of "king of the court" with his abrasive attitude and "take no bs" approach to his spikers. I think it is another beautiful parallel because Kageyama was acting the same way to his spikers so when people first see the way Atsumu treats his spikers their minds goes to "oh, here comes another king of the court" but unlike Kageyama, Atsumu embraces it and doubles down on the aggresiveness because he knows he is in the right where Kageyama was in the wrong. Kageyama was forcing spikers to do impossible because he was judging them based on his own performance. Kageyama was pushing spikers to do the hard work in order for him to get the victory. He was setting the ball for spikers where he thinks is best to spike from and would blame it on spikers when they fail to follow. Atsumu seem to do the same but that could not be further from truth. Where Kageyama sets the ball where he thinks is the best and blames spikers when they fail to follow, Atsumu goes far and beyond to set the ball in perfect spot for spikers to hit so that they have no right to complain about the set and just spike the ball which is why he keeps the privilege to complain about his spikers. He gives his 120% and spikers have nothing to complain about when it comes to the sets they receive, all they need to do is spike the ball so when they cant pull their weight Atsumu gets angry and rightfully so. That is because he does not act like king of the court expecting spikers to do impossible, all he asks for is consistency. He knows they can score if they get the set he gives them. They prove that in the practice and other matches. So when they have a bad day or miss for whatever reason he gets very verbal about it. That is why he calls Kageyama too goody shoes. Because Kageyama is/was scared to get vocal and argue because in his past when he did that he was in the wrong and he did not know how to do it when he is right out of fear of what happened in the past happening again. Also, shoutout to Inarizaki's libero, i dont know his name but guy really comes in the clutch when it counts and he barely gets any praise or recognition. Lowkey crucial player for inarizaki just like iwaizuimi was for Seijoh except libero dont spike so its that much easier to miss their contribution. Finally, Hinata's receive and pay-off for cringy ballboy saga, priceless :D

But in all of that is this beautiful storytelling that never fails to have heart and passion. I'm over 45, and what I've learned about drive and resilience from this show I wasn't able to learn from all these lame corporate retreats I've been on. Whether people think it's lame or not, when I'm going through really challenging situations at work, I think about some of the lessons I've learned from this show about not giving up. It's helped me not set my office desk on fire many times 😅

Her reactions are so insightful with even more volleyball knowledge so that was a nice acknowledgement! also very much adore kita, he's probably the character I relate to the least but I respect so much. he really has a strong presence and makes me want to do better xD also that hinata receive is my favorite scene of the show!! the pay off from the ball boy arc ofc, but also since season one, where his receives are the weakest of his skill set and he learns they're just as instrumental to the team as spiking is. its sooo satisfying and so unexpected, furudate never fails to amaze me with the story telling.

I like that they don’t boo because the team’s playing badly, they only boo when they aren’t going all out. Like in episode 19 when riseki went with a safe serve because he didn’t want to miss, instead of being aggressive and going for it like he did in episode 22. I like how even the audience embody the team’s mantra of challenging yourself and always giving it your all.

That anime had a set of twins as well and they had a special attack called Sky Love Hurricane. I actually really want to see how the Miya twins would have done it😂 The Miya twins (ep 22) with their motto of "Yesterday is already gone, so what are we gonna do today" doing the reverse minus quick, and then you see the whole team and their banner "we don’t need the memories" with the epic music, it gives me the chills every time. And then of course Hinata's receive, and just everything surrounding it…it just feels so rewarding, especially after seeing him pretty much at rock bottom at the beginning of season 4. I love how he's lifting up the spirits of his team after losing that point, by just being him, so happy and hungry (as Osamu so beautifully put it) for more Volleyball.

I dont feel like they are just excited in a casual way but they do so well to pick things up in a first watch, they are meticulous about what they discuss and I can tell they are invested because they are going through the same thought processes and discussions I used to have when all this was airing. Feels like I've found a rare couple who can understand why someone such as myself would put this series in their pinnacle of anime and manga. I am really glad you said that the music in haikyuu is actually outstanding! the composer is Yuki Hayashi and this season there is a lot of amazing tracks. - Omnivorous - Targeting Kenma theme - Tanaka's Rising OST (which is you listen carefuly is an alternative version of omnivorous theme) - Hinata Perfect Received theme - there is another EPIC theme song coming next episode!! The composer is the same one who composed the music of My Hero Academia, i know this is a show you dont react yet but i wish you could give it a try, it is a shonen so maybe it can't replace haikyuu (you will react to blue lock i think) but please consider watching my hero academia too

2024-02-14 20:59:19 +0000 UTCThe manga chapter with Nishinoya and Kinnoshita is called "the guardian's hero" and I love it so much. Kinnoshita was upset about not having an awesome hero moment on the court like all his teammates, but him training with Noya and then calling out to him to "move up" made him Noyas hero. And Noya acknowledged that. It's one of my favourite moments too. I also love the National team coachs description of Atsumu "easily flattered, demanding, aggressive…but more considerate and dedicated to his spikers than any other setter". He really gives his absolute all to send his hitters the best set, so he expects the best from his hitters as well. And if they still get blocked, then that's just how it is. He won't get angry if the hitter tried his best and got blocked, we've seen it happen and Atsumu never berated them. The only times he yelled during this match was when Osamu slacked of on being a decoy and when he hit that serve that hit the scoreboard😆 Even in the flashback in middleschool, he asked his teammates first "did you have a problem with my sets?" and only when they confirmed that they didn't that's when he got angry with them. "I'll help you get the ball over" that’s literally the sentence, the moment, that inspired him to become a setter. I feel like that sums it up pretty well. I love Atsumu one of my top 3.

Reg ep 22 what Carlie said that Haikyuu is a show about Hinata proving all those coaches wrong lmao that's the perfect depiction! Season 4 is my top favourite even though S3 comes a close second, and it's mainly because of the Inarizaki match, because we see so much of Karasuno's growth throughout this season, like the Noya-Kinoshita moment and also Tanaka and even Kageyama. But especially the big payoff being Hinata's receive. This season solidifies Hinata's growth as a player outside of his combo with Kageyama. Plus the nationals give Karasuno a lot of incredible rivals to match against. I mean playing against the nation's second team is crazy in and of itself! So glad you guys are enjoying this season as much as I did when I first watched it. ONLY THREE MORE EPISODES LEFT!! The movie is releasing this week in Japan so you're right on time lol. LET'S GO LEFTOOOOO!!
