This will mean we wont be introducing a Patreon exclusive series any time soon because we do want to post these reactions to the channel because it is pretty relevant in the Youtube space right now.

They watch good entertainment and art recommended to them. No need to gatekeep what they watch just because "it's not anime." The reason why I mentioned FMAB is because it's something they have seen before, and I'm putting forth my opinion that I find ATLA to be like FMAB but better, to support my statement that it's a worthwhile watch. It's not supposed to be that complicated.

FYI, I've easily watched over 50 anime and read a few manga. It just happens ATLA remains the best thing I've ever seen. And sure it can wait for you but I and other people have already been waiting for a long time and were told it would start by now, so if you are 'butthurt' about waiting a few weeks for Frieren, imagine others like me who've been waiting over a year for ATLA now. And for the record, I am watching Frieren and I like it, it's nothing against it.

I dont know why the two are being compared to begin with… They are both good but ATLA is not anime. Im not going to debate it either. Anime noobs end up being lame and only stick to basic repetitive shonen jump shows like JJK and one piece etc… Then they also want to think ATLA is fine being grouped into anime but it doesn’t work like that. ATLA got inspiration from anime from my perspective but it isnt classified as one. Gotta gatekeep or else anime is not going to be anime anymore

Sometimes slice-of-life, sometimes more dramatic...but the aim is always to talk about the characters. This is a melancholy road-anime dealing with many themes through the prism of Time.

I'm willing to be wrong, so I'll be sure to give it a fresh pair of eyes. Now that that is out of the way, please watch My Love Story! Watching Ange unable to process super sweet anime without yelling AT them for being cute is too perfect. It's got a 4.8 with 11K votes on Crunchy, it's incredibly wholesome, and it's on Crunchy, Hulu, etc. it's not hard to find a place to watch it. Very very funny, it's something to give yourself a little bit of a breather between heavier stuff, though it does have its exciting moments! "My Love Story!!"or "Ore Monogatari!!" Part of it, too, as a musician, is I wanna hear your rock cover of the theme song! XD

I've been asking for ATLA for long now and it was supposed to start by the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024 but it looks like that's no longer the plan, unfortunately. It's definitely a missed opportunity because if popularity is a factor here, the Netflix adaptation for ATLA is a much bigger event than Frieren and they could have finished the animated show by then, but it is what it is. I just hope they don't do the LA first influenced by its popularity as they did with One Piece because no matter if it ends up being great, the cartoon will always remain unmatched.

I watched it for the first time in 2016 or 2017 myself, and afterward I completely understood the universal renown it has, after a slowish start. Plus there's the new Netflix Live Action adaptation making the rounds, so maybe it's the right time to get into the series. I have an apparently hot take, but I don't like FMAB all that much even though it's a solid series, and I find ATLA to do everything FMAB tried to do, and more, and better.

The only issue is they have a limited amount of time and shows they can watch. If they choose one less popular than a popular one it will affect the overall views they get on the moment and growth. That's whether they post it on 1 single channel or on multiple ones

They're not doubling their workload, they just react to things as normal, and if it isn't a popular show you dump it onto the second channel so it doesn't affect the numbers of their primary channel. This allows them to watch a more diverse list of shows without dragging their average viewer number down (a *very* big deal for the recommendation algorithm). They have in the past lamented not being able to react to certain things and put them on Youtube because of this, and the secondary channel is the primary method for circumventing the problem.

Content that doesn't do well according to the algorithm. Because that content isn't pushed by the algorithm, people don't see it and that channel doesn't do wrll well. So if that channel isn't doing well, that means they are doubling their work load for no benefit. And if they don't double their work load that means they would be taking time away from producing the content that DOES do well for the content that doesn't. Which would mean the main channel would start to suffer. I'm not really seeing where it would ever be worth it to start a second channel for that. There's only so much time in the day and you have to devote that to what succeeds. That's just how the business works.

Sure it isn't an ORIGINAL concept, but it's a very well written example. Not to mention the truly great animation. Sometime when you're editing these episodes, go frame by frame and count the individual original drawings. You don't get a lot of the shortcuts that you see in modern animation(lack of key frames, frame skipping, excessive smudge frames, frame duplication, etc.) This anime is pure quality all the way through.

You can tell the writing is very smart and mature, despite it not doing anything absolutely mindblowing in the traditional sense. But what it focuses on are things most stories completely overlook, and you can see just how much untapped potential there is. I feel like I’m not doing the show justice here, so you can just watch and see what I mean lol. Also, Frieren is one of the best anime protags in recent memory, for sure. She’s not the kind of character you’d expect to have primary focus, and that’s part of what makes her so enjoyable. No one even dislikes her, it’s great.

May be worth starting a second channel to put shows on so they don't affect your numbers, allowing you to watch stuff further into the past and then aren't beholden to The Algorithm. Frieren has been fine, but it's really just fine compared to history.
