As Carlie said, Kurapika took a shortcut by putting a risky condition for his nen so that he could have a powerup against the Troupe, and as Ange said, Gon & Killua doesn't really have that immediate threat or target right now so they can take the time learning nen the "proper way". That's also why Wing told Gon to not emulate Kurapika. With that said, Kurapika, also has special genes as a Kurta clan member, and even Uvo remembered them as pretty strong (presumably even without nen), and his genes is one of the reasons why he got so strong so fast along with the condition x condition without going through the same training as Killua and Gon.

2024-01-26 17:26:02 +0000 UTCI think you guys missed it in your reaction but bisky made a observation and theory mentioning how each creature and obstacle is made to progress your strength and she said it’s all very likely that it was made that way for the sole purpose of making Gon stronger
