I've been (re)watching it for 20 years now and I never get bored of it ( both versions) it's one of my all time favorite shows! Can't wait for more HxH content!! It's better for a reaction for them to find out if they are correct or wrong through watching the show and not through the comments lol we really only need to clarify things to them or correct them if the show itself won't do that later on.

Yeah they miss/forget some things, but I also missed/forgot things when I first watched HxH even though I was fully focused on the screen and wasn't talking to anyone.

Edit: Also, this episode is a great example as to why you should be watching the dub. You're missing a lot trying to read and talk at the same time, and not knowing the native language you are missing context and nuance that only comes from the spoken word. Yea, the sub is better, but it's a good dub and certainly better for reacting to.

2024-01-06 02:50:31 +0000 UTCWhile it is definitely debatable who would win between Zeno and Chrollo, I think it's a fair argument that Chrollo would win. He went into a 1 v 2 situation against 2 masters trying to steal abilities instead of kill, and he got pinned down and took an attempted lethal attack from Silva without any serious damage. Without the handicap of trying to steal instead of kill, and without the extra opponent limiting his options for attack, I think it stands to reason that he would do Zeno in. Not to mention Zeno uses primarily transmutation and emitter nen while Chrollo is a specialist who can use all of them. Chrollo also has far more abilities at his disposal even with the condition of having to hold the book in his hand. I don't really see a path to victory for Zeno.

Many Anime and some would say the next arc miss the mark by doing what I just mentioned (lmao for those who know, BOOM).

Zeno is slightly stronger than Silver who fought and came out on top vs Chrollo one on one in the past. Zeno was just saying "I know what you were trying to do brat" and when you understand that one of the conditions to use the opponents ability also prevents you from winning the fight, As Zeno sussed out, you can understand why Zeno said what he said.

2024-01-06 00:58:41 +0000 UTCIt is literally never stated that Chrollo would win, it means that in a fight to the death, all holds are barred, aka Chrollo going all out and the way nen works leads for a chance of victory toward anyone because they both don't know the full extent of their abilities. Zeno is an amazing strategist, and he can usually size up an opponents options so he isn't optimistic foolishly and understands that underestimating an opponent can lead to death, thus his answer is grounded.

Love the hype in the discussions XD IMPORTANT CLARIFICATIONS (NO SPOILERS): 1- The blanket Chrollo used was not a power of a troupe member, it was for the Owl (a shadow beast), they caught him and tortured him so he probably stole his ability at that time. We were not shown that he stole any ability of any troupe member. 2- Zeno said that Chrollo has to meet 4 or 5 conditions in order to "STEAL A NEW ABILITY". But he didn't say that he needs 4 or 5 conditions in order to "USE AN ALREADY STOLEN ABILITY". In fact, the condition to use an already stolen ability was shown (to keep the book open in his hand). The conditions to steal a new ability were not shown to us, but he clearly stole Neon's Ability so he must've cleared those conditions wit her. 3- If the content of an already written fortune paper changes automatically with someone's actions, then what's written on Chrollo's fortune paper (written by Neon) should've changed when he decided to run from the city with the members. But the paper remained the same, because it was written before he took this decision. This means that you can't change what's on your paper just by your own will. Hisoka can do it with his texture surprise though XD.

This might be an unpopular opinion... but I feel like I would prefer a format like the Haikyuu reactions (Even if it would mean only 3 episodes a week... dont kill me other patreons for this suggestion haha) What I mean by this, is having a post discussion for each episode and not combining 2 episodes at once. I feel digesting one episode per discussion helps for a better understanding of the story and details. (Not saying that you guys are not doing a good job! ) I just feel as we go near to more "complex" arcs of HxH, this format would be preferable IMO. But I could be wrong... Chrollo wanted to steal their abilities, but there are specific conditions required first to do so. (not the same as kurapikas “condition”) For example, having his questions about the ability answered by the user, as he did with the Nostrade girl. However, if Chrollo fought for real, he would win 1v1 against Zeno and Zeno was aware of that.
