It's one of the things JJK lifted directly (probably other animes too). Specificity for power increase. Or explaining abilities out loud in exchange for power increase. It's a good method for subtle adjustments, and also for tailoring it more to individuals (Kurapika's chain jail being almost infinitely powerful provided he uses it ONLY on the Phantom Troupe, in exchange for his life should he try to use it on anyone else). As Kurapika is a conjurer, things like his healing would also need Emperor time, as that's an enhancer power, and would otherwise work only at 60%.

So he team up with Kurapika who wants to desttroys the troup to vleqr the “bodyguards” around and leaves the boss alone to Hisoka.

His dad silva actually killed a phantom troupe member before and said that the price was'nt worth it, which is a high compliment by silva's standards who is an assasin. so he was'nt a scaredy cat, its just that the price was'nt enough

That, and Carlie’s endless Zoldyck sibling theories lol. Just a note about Silva and the Phantom Troupe - I think you missed it at the beginning of the episode but Silva did succeed in his hit on a Troupe member, but gave a rare complaint that ‘it wasn’t worth the pay’ because of how hard it was. His experience with that hit is why he told the family to stay away from them, as far as Killua knows.

2023-12-29 19:15:43 +0000 UTCAnyone can attach a condition to their Nen abilities. It's essentially just setting limits and balances to your abilities. This makes them weak in some areas or makes some powers hyper specific in exchange for making the ability more powerful. Ange has a pretty good understanding of how it works. The reason Kurapika is SO powerful while being a relatively new nen user with very little training compared to his enemies is because his rule was so strict and so limiting on his powers. You brought up Blinky and that's a really good example. Shizuku has said before that Blinky can't suck up anything living. That is a condition she set on her ability. It can't suck up anything living, but in exchange it can completely suck up non-living things. Pakunoda can read people's memories, but at this point it's speculated that she can only do so if she touches you. That's another example of a condition. The more that the condition restricts your ability, the more powerful that ability will be in the scenario in which it can be used.
