There are videos of piano players trying to repeat what he plays and it's the right chords. The attention to detail is INSANE. Honestly an unreasonable amount of time and money spent on that.

Even though the writing is on the wall. It’s still a beautiful show that impacted many people who have watched it. YLIA and Re:Zero are gonna have uncomfortable moments. Idk they will be able to handle Made in Abyss but I’m very excited to see them reaction to it someday.

They used the technique known as rotoscope where they recorded real life professional pianist and violinist and turn them into animation we are seeing in these episodes. Besides the WHOLESOME storyline of the anime, the accuracy of the animation for pianists and violinist is another reason why this show is famous and loved.
