It may be an incentive to get over to Patreon, but it would also do extremely well as a YT series. A bit longer series now at 48 episodes currently, but first season is 24 episodes.

I think it's a fun show to have theory discussions after each episode as the story develops and there are a lot of subversion of typical character tropes. I think its a better show to eventually share on YT, but sadly idk if it will ever be popular enough to win a poll against more popular titles.

Based on the past series like Violet Evergarden, Stein's Gate, 86... is there a pattern? Niche but well-received shows? Well-received shows that are popular but not extremely popular? Shorter series? Something that would maybe not do all that well on YT but still have a dedicated large-ish audience on Patreon? I mean in that case, the series you already chose to be Patreon exclusives are definitely things people on YT would watch, but they won't hit JJK or AOT numbers. But if that's the criteria, then it seems "Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song" may be the best candidate. Depends if you're currently feeling for some blockbuster-esque action, grounded drama, mystery, sci-fi. Darker themes. 13 episodes (+1 special apparently). - Extremely well-received show with ensemble cast of VAs. - Animated by WIT studio. Incredible art, animation, action sequences. - Great story with overarching mystery to uncover. Written by the writer of Re:Zero, Tappei Nagatsuki. - Main character's VA is someone you two love but will never guess by their range. - Popular show to those who know it, but definitely criminally under the radar. Released in 2021. But if you're instead looking for something more zany, stylistically creative, and unique in terms of genre and storytelling, then "ODD TAXI" is the best candidate. It's incredibly well-received though more niche, almost universally acclaimed as a hidden gem of 2021 to those who've seen it (along with Vivy). I can see you two having a great time with the series. It depends on if you're feeling for something more light-hearted and comedic, whilst also being balanced and grounded in real and mature themes. Slice-of-life, mystery, drama, comedy. 13 episodes. I heard it was inspired by Tarantino, Scorcese, other classic blockbuster Hollywood films, but I'm not certain. - Incredibly unique, interwoven, complex, and well-executed story, direction. Great story with overarching mystery to uncover. - Absolutely unique art direction and storyboarding. - Incredible cast of VAs. - Main character's VA is someone you two love but will never guess by their range. - Breath of fresh air for when shows seem too samey. - Popular show to those who know it, but EXTREMELY criminally under the radar. Released in 2021. I also agree with Ranking of Kings for a lesser-known but still well-received show. Also animated by WIT studio. Has Eren's VA. But IMO it's not on the same caliber as those I listed above. And Made in Abyss is a good choice as well. Darker show though.

2023-12-20 21:34:36 +0000 UTC86 was an amazing series, great soundtrack and storytelling. some anime suggestions for Patreon exclusive that are great, but might not get enough love on Youtube: Made In Abyss - great world-building fantasy. Top-tier sound design and OST Baccano! - action, mystery, supernatural. 13ep completed series. You follow multiple different characters' POV, and there are converging moments. You have to be pretty focused when watching because there's a LOT of timeline jumping (like 86). But very fun and whimsical story. Highly suggest watching in English DUB, the English VAs match the western setting of the show. Summertime Rendering - suspense, murder mystery, supernatural. Great show to have theories as the story develops. It's a 25ep completed series. (I would recommend it AFTER completing Re:Zero, since there are similar themes) Death Note - don't have to say much about this. Suspenseful, psychological warfare with a flawed MC.

She will cry tears of joy to understand everything that went over anges head lol and her too, just more so ange. We all failed the first watch, this will help with your second watch. Story is so deep they aint allowed to finish anime adaptation, light novels complete the story overall though. Thanks carlie, you get mvp for reactor of the year. Despite the gaps between each viewing, you still managed to understand the intent and emotion portrayed, the tears are proof someone has truly processed everything subconsciusly!!!

I still haven’t seen the last few episodes clearly, what’s with those watery eyes… I have started the LNs, but I will be conflicted reading past the anime, I will probably hold out until we know if it gets more seasons. Btw, my favourite song of the show is The Answer, but all the soundtrack is worth listening to on its own. As for the next anime after this, Frieren was suggested, but as it is halfway through the season you might not catch up to the finale. It is on a tier with 86, imo, so definitely worth watching. Another one on that kind of level that will continue in April and has 37 eps to catch up, is Mushoku Tensei. For shorter slice-of-lifey funnier (and maybe romance) stories I would recommend Tomo-chan is a Girl or My Dress-up Darling. And Bunny Girl Senpai which is more in the V. Evergarden direction. But everything is fine by me, I enjoy your back and forth very much .

It’s also the most highly rated anime at the moment, currently trumping AoT, HxH and Full Metal Alchemist (although that might obviously be subject to change).

Instead I'm going to applaud you guys for the great reaction and I'm happy to see that you guys enjoyed these as well. I sub to different Patreon reaction channels exclusively for the 86 content. Just because I want to see the reactions with full OSTs etc. I will definitely continue hanging out with you guys though for future shows as well. Your Lie in April is amazing and I'm really excited to see what will be the next show. I'm going to suggest Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. You likely have heard all the hype around this show and it's definitely worth it. If you start it next year and do few episodes per week, you'll probably catch up by the end of the season. The show did the unthinkable and took over FMAB as the highest rated anime of all-time on MAL. Other great show to consider are Hell's Paradise (13 episodes, MAPPA, part of the 'Dark Trio' of anime with Chainsaw Man and JJK) and Heavenly Delusion (13 episodes, just a heart-wrenching mystery show with great characters and a great plot with a lot of twist). Anyways Happy Holidays and enjoy the well deserved break!

2023-12-19 19:03:28 +0000 UTCWhen I first watched these last two eps, I was a sobbing MESS - from our whole crew surviving, to Shin's inner turmoil and finally finding his reason to truly live, to Lena popping up, to revisiting the slice-of-life moments, and then THE FINALE OF THEM ALL MEETING FACE-TO-FACE......whew, I had so many tissues 😭 This really is an underrated masterpiece

I would recommend you to look at the ending song LilaS with lyrics on, it match perfectly with how Lena think, well this song was made especially for this moment. Oh and did you know that the name of this song LilaS mean Lena is looking after Shin. One more thing you can watch if you want more are the 3 videos of "86 Eighty Six - Details And Symbolism You Missed" wich are really well made.

2023-12-19 18:43:31 +0000 UTCThe direction of this show has just been top tier the whole way through. Shin standing over Kiri, but flips to Shin on his knees and Kiri turning away. Shin is desperately trying to keep hold, the only goal he has, his only motivation for moving forward, until he loses it and is thrown back into a listless limbo. The callback to the first thing we see Eugene do is teach his sister that when someone does something nice for you, you say "thank you" and seeing her with his picture. It hits a whole lot harder at the gravestone when you see how genuinely happy she is about it. Absolutely incredible.

Loved it so much I bought all the light novels and am already on volume 10 😅 I really hope the anime does get a chance to continue one day but if not these episodes are such a heartwarming ending 🥹
