The pay off after 2 seasons of him just "being on the team" to actively changing the flow of the game because he can was massive. I was shocked how Ange predicted it to be such a big moment as being the FIRST person to block Ushiwaka's powerful spike. That was Tsukki's first time really yelling passionately and you can see its effect on his teammates. (I teared up too, Carlie). This season put Tsukki in my top 3 favorite characters and I watch this episode regularly. Probably my most watched episode of the whole show. Now let's see where the next set takes us <3

2023-12-10 18:23:16 +0000 UTCLoved your reactions! Tsuki's arc is one of the best slow burns I've ever seen. Just perfectly laid out and paced, especially for the kind of character that he is. He's not someone who's just going to change at the drop of a hat or without some reluctance that he has to fight through. It's going to be step by step, as methodical and considered as he is. Tsuki's block and leading his team on defense was fantastic. So rewarding after 2 and a half seasons of him being good but never giving his all and being reluctant to lay himself out there for his team. Every time he coordinated the defense I felt so proud lol. But that yell what something else. It gives me chills every time I do a rewatch and get to that part, even now years later since I first saw it. The way his team and his brother reacted to that was absolute the same way I reacted when I first saw it. The VA was phenomenal. I've never read this part in the manga (this season was what made me pick it up so I jumped in after this match) but I heard that Tsuki doesn't yell in the manga. What a great addition by the director/writer (whoever decided to add it) for this episode. I can't imagine that moment not existing now.
