What is making the two of you go on about Gon being a selfish character? I would say that for a boy of 12 years' old, he thinks of others a great deal more than most. He's gone out of his way to help others several times so far, endangering himself in the process. He's more inclined to go out of his way for his friends than for others, but that's true of EVERYBODY, except saints. He's a bit dumb in some ways, but I did not hear a single one of his friends point out to him that Hisoka was a grown man with years of fighting experience, and that he was a 12 year old boy, therefore Gon was being a bit silly feeling bad that Hisoka beat him. But when I say he's dumb, can we say again, HE'S 12 YEARS' OLD. He makes friends easily, doesn't judge anyone (perhaps even when he should - I don't think it's even occurred to him to think badly of Hisoka - he just wanted to beat him), is very passionate and is constantly hopeful. i.e. the sort of character who has no emotional defences when something nasty happens. I think a lot of people forget about this emotional defencelessness (is that a word?). He has no idea to handle it when he is hurt. He cries LIKE THE 12 YEAR OLD THAT HE IS.

Those that do don't use exclusively enhancer technics and have to go outside of their specialty, for example Castro was an Enhancer but he Conjured a body double to fight with. Gido was manipulating his tops to move in weird patterns but that's it. And i am saying usually not always.

But then he also goes on to say that under the right circumstances conjurers can be very strong. I guess they're trying to say that enhancers are more well-rounded in combat whereas conjurers are a bit more niche or specialised which can make them stronger than enhancers if the situation is right.

Without spoiling anything, Kurapika is like 2 steps ahead of Gon/Killua in the way he's using Nen. You'll get to see more about that in the upcoming episodes so just know that it'll be addressed !

A conjurer can conjure a strong weapon with special abilities like kurapika's chains that can stop bullets and point out deception, but if an enhancer tried to do the same, it wouldn't be nearly as powerful. Enhancers are good at strengthening, Transmuters can change the nature of their aura, Conjurers make things appear from their aura, Specialists have special abilities that don't fit in either of these, Manipulators can control things/people, Emmiters are good at detaching their aura (this includes shooting their aura or even having their aura continue to work from long distances).

2023-12-10 18:16:36 +0000 UTCSince you asked for clarification: While you are right, that enhancers are the most powerful ones in term of offence/defence, I'm not sure if you guys understood the percentages correct. Being an enhancer means you can learn an enhancer skill at 100% strength, lets say a punch, that destroys a wall. Being a conjurer trying to learn a enhancer skill, means you can learn the same ability at 60% strength, a punch that cracks a wall instead of destroying it. It does not mean that 60% enhancer skills are as strong as 100% conjurer skills.
