I love Raiden and Shin's relationship. Their talk on the bridge is great and the symbolism of the railroad tracks behind Shin is perfect. One track coming to dead end and another one diverging. And then the scene where they talk about where they want to go, everyone but Shin has thought about what comes next. Plus Shin is physically "separate" from the others, adding the idea that he is becoming more alone. I love the way the production uses visuals to add extra layers to the story and the characters at the same time A couple of fun facts for you. - Kiri's VA is Yuuto Uemura, who also voiced Thorfinn. - Another fun fact, the butterfly we see in this episode being devoured by the ants is called "Menelaus blue morpho" aka Morpho Butterfly. - Báleygr means "the one with flaming eye" and in Norse mythology is associated with Odin. Odin is associated with wisdom, healing, death, royalty, the gallows, knowledge, war, battle, victory, sorcery, poetry, frenzy.

2023-12-12 01:31:47 +0000 UTCI hope you guys react to classroom of the elite after 86, it will be a nice change of pace and to be honest a completely different anime than u you guys have reacted to before as it’s more of a high school/mystery show. It’s a simple yet intriguing show with honestly one of the best mcs in my opinion which is going to have its 3rd season next year, so you guys can build up to it. And the 2 previous seasons are actually 12 and 13 episodes only, so it’s a relatively short series. I think you guys will love the mc and the anime’s world.

I didn’t think much about the relationship between Shin and Lena, but I finally understood after episode 20 when they were talking about how they expected Shin to carry them with him after they die, but never thought about the possibility of Shin dying before them. The reason why Shin was able to open up to Lena is because she never had that expectation of him. With Lena he didn’t have to be the Reaper or Undertaker, just Shin, a regular boy. She doesn’t need him to live for her, so he won’t let her down if he did die. If Shin died, Lena would carry him with her and even take on his role to remember everyone that died. He was at peace with knowing that he would die and someone would remember him, which explains why he spiraled off the deep end after believing Lena died. He finally met someone he could leave a piece of himself with, but she went on ahead and died before him, leaving him behind once again. It’s something so simple, but so beautiful and just feels so real.

2023-12-04 15:19:42 +0000 UTC86 fans are patient, we can deal with a wait LOL. Something I feel gets overlooked is Shin being labeled "The Reaper". While it seems like a cool nickname, it was definitely a derisive term that only began to lose that stigma once he made it to Spearhead. Shin has been in a bunch of units, has had to execute fallen Processors because he's one of the very few who knows what the Legion are doing with the brains, and is always touted as the last survivor. On top of the racial discrimination faced among the 86 (his parents are from Giad), his reputation was probably very similar to what we saw once he was introduced to the Federacy's army; an omen of death, a bad luck charm that will end up being the only survivor while everyone else dies. He begins to fully internalize that moniker to the point where he really doesn't see a future, only a time where he's eventually going to be all alone with no reason to live.
