2023-11-25 23:08:27 +0000 UTCI'm with Ange far as Iwaizumi appreciation goes. He feels like the Daichi of Aoba Johsai, not necessarily the flashiest player, but provides a solid base for the team. The way they play and their personalities mirror each other a bit as well, Iwaizumi being far more aggressive and offensive while Daichi is calm and defensive. Both have this well earned confidence about them. Thanks for the reactions, these were a lot of fun as always. The third season is my personal favorite, so I'm really looking forward to it!

It's about football and it gives massive Haikyuu vibes. The manga in particular is spectacular but the anime wasn't that much of a hit probably because of Blue Lock. Season 3 intro is my second favorite in terms of music but my favorite in terms of the visuals. Watching Ange pick up the keyboard, then realize he made a mistake was too damn funny🤣He just wanted an excuse to watch the whole episode again, and I don't blame him. I never get sick of rewatching Haikyuu (though via reactions) I think your guys' MVP's were pretty accurate. And I have a rather ace source backing me on this one: Senior Ukai says so directly in S2E12, right around 14:30... Random spectator: "That first-year duo is really something." Senior Ukai: "Yeah. But the second and third-years are far beyond my expectations, too. Right now, Karasuno is on the brink of survival, thanks in great part to their passionate advisor and newfound strength. But that's all because they have a sturdy foundation. Last year, just for a short time, I came to see a practice at Karasuno. At the time, they had the ability and dedication. However, I felt a lack of confidence in them. It's like they were subconsciously used to losing. When the current 3rd years came to Karasuno, it was right around the time where Karasuno being a powerhouse school became a thing of the past. I'm sure the gap between their expectations and reality was pretty big. They were probably around during the worst time. That's exactly why the ones who didn't rot and didn't give up, and are still here now, have an unwavering strength." In other words, Ukai directly states that the gap between the present-time Karasuno 3rd years vs. any nationally strong players isn't because of physical ability or technique, but straight up confidence. The fact that they were selected for the Karasuno volleyball team directly before it stopped being a powerhouse school (in other words, while they were still recognized as a national contender) implies that they had, at the very least, strong national potential, similar to how other characters in the show have talked about not being able to make the cut at other strong schools such as Aoba Josai. So our 3rd years and senpais in general are quite far from being pushovers. At least when they correctly believe they aren't : )

He just has to sit out at least one rally before going in for someone in the back. And like you said, when the rotation puts him in the front row, that's when he has to go out(when he subs out, he has to switch with the same person he subbed in for)

These are the rules: - Every player can only be subbed-in once per set. - Starting the set on the court doesn't count as subbing-in. - Libero's get to sub-in and out as much as they want. Clarifications on the rules: - Bench players can be subbed-in and out only once per set. - Regular players can be subbed-out, subbed-int, and then subbed-out a second time if the coach wishes to, but then they can't come back in during the same set. - The 3rd rule is the reason why the Libero wears different-colored uniforms, so the referee can easily identify them and allow the switch to happen. - Libero's are not allowed to serve, and they can only play in the back-row, hence the 3rd rule. They usually sub-out with a Middle-blocker as soon as they would go to the front-row, and they get to sub-back-in as soon as another Middle-blocker rotates back and loses their serve. This explains why we constantly see Noya subbing-in and out with Hinata and Tsukishima. Extra fun fact: This 3rd rule is also a big reason why the Middle-blockers role exists. Since the Libero will always sub-in on the back and sub-out on the front, someone has to do the opposite, these are the middle-blockers. They get to specialize in blocking and attacking, since they mostly play the front-row, only playing in the back-row when they are obligated to serve, since the Libero can't switch with them before that. This adds a little extra context to Ukai's strategy to sub-in pinch-servers when Hinata or Tsukishima were about to serve, since it's the only rotation where they have to play in the back-row.

Second, I love the mirror of how powerful the serve is in the beginning right before Yamaguchi serves and then back in the end when Oikawa does. I'm also a big fan they had a whole episode where the main character mostly sits on the bench. Any other show, that'd be a huge deal but here? It's just whatever. You barely notice it. But finally, I love how the whole episode is about momentum and morale. Mathematically, Yamaguchi did "nothing": They lost the set anyways, and how close they lose a set by has no effect on who wins or loses. And YET... That 5 point streak was everything. It shifted the momentum, it pumped the kids up, it got them to set 3 in a totally different mood. And I love how the show is aware how much that shit matters.

Hinata's ability to see the block is awesome and is an exceptional skill that shouldn't be taken for granted; the falling quick set that kags does, however, is the catalyst that enables it since it is both quick enough to beat the block and easy for hinata to hit. In addition, its been hinted at in 2x10 & 2x13 that executing the quick is still an enigma in that kags needs to be in perfect form. He did it playing a full game in the third set at the end of a long rally--insane. They're as equally valuable as each other tho and its all personal preference. The dump of destiny or the block of willpower. Kags' skilful setting or hinata's relentless decoy energy. (Also feel free to pause, have a breather and go back, its easy to miss stuff cuz its like wtf just happened 😂)

2023-11-22 22:16:43 +0000 UTCi do wish the concept of karasuno as a team being mvp is possible especially cause for some of the episodes in future that is really the right (and for some the only) answer but A&C stated they really want to limit it to only one person and that is challenge on its own. we already had moments when multiple characters deserve the spot and it is impossible to make the choice and i know of few episodes when some characters will surely be done dirty because no matter how much they get to shine in future episodes each and every one of those episodes said character will get outshined by others that deserve the spot even more so :)

I swear, you guys are the best haikyuu reactors I've personally seen and I love re-watching this anime with you because it makes me feel like I'm watching it for the first time again. Watching 21-24 in one stretch was the best way for us to enjoy your reaction to the Karasuno-Seijoh match so thanks again for releasing them together for us to enjoy. Truly appreciate it! Btw my MVP pick for ep 23 was Tanaka lol. Tsukki was a close second and I love how he cleverly used Tanaka's rivalry with Kyotani (mad dog) but I'd give MVP to Tanaka personally cos he set that rivalry up to begin with, and it was the best way to derail the mad dog off his course. And for ep 24, it's 100% Hinata for me, though I get that when it comes to KageHina combo it's quite difficult to narrow down the MVP to either one most times lol. Hinata and Kageyama are my favourite characters in this series and I love it when you guys notice Hinata's efforts as well, esp since it's easier to overlook him since he's such a newbie to Volleyball and Kageyama is already a certified genius, but that's what makes this anime so interesting! 🤩 Looking forward to ep 25 and so bloody stoked for season 3 next let's go LEFTOOO (I'll pray for your expensive equipments guys xD) (Also yes, we need more Iwaizumi appreciation in this house! When the statement was made, it was toward the beginning of the 2nd set when Suga was subbed in to pinch serve and both teams were in single digits. Considering you need to win two sets, why ignore the 1st? Regardless of that, my point still stands.

2023-11-22 20:47:28 +0000 UTCwell what did he really contribute in 2nd set? he had his moment in 1st set and he shined in 3rd set but 2nd set he did more bad than good if anything. he was not blocked a lot in 2nd set but every ball that was tossed to him was picked up by iwaizumi or others and in defense he was more distracted than focused. 2nd set was mostly dominated by mad dog as in both team points are generated by either mad dog's insane scores or mistakes he made. Hinata did not contribute at all and what little moments in 2nd set karasuno manage to get were all shining on other players. hinata was "just there" on the court. his blocking was terrible, even when he tries to focus he just plays into oikawa's hand and his attack was mediocre, he wasnt missing but he wasnt scoring either. Match was simply made so that hinata does not shine or get focus in 2nd set. what exactly did he "definitely" contribute to in episode 21? even the obvious plays that he recognize and see ahead he fails to do anything about them. he sees that kindaichi is not going through so he is 100% sure it is going to go to mad dog so it is 1 on 1 no waiting for read blocking (so it was commit block) and he did literally nothing to hinder mad dogs spike. next point he gets distracted by kindaichi's c quick and doesnt even jump. even when he tries to look outside of the box it just slows him down. he falls for seijoh's "fake" bad receive. when he tries not to get tricked by oikawa, oikawa notices and just uses his intentions against him. what exactly was he contributed that needs such a praise in 2nd set? even his "back row spike" failed epically... Most of 2nd set he was just simping for how cool mad dog is imo :D

Everyone played their hearts out. For MVP my heart will always say Oikawa for episode 24. He has let go of that ‘I’m not a genius’ cage he was in and played without regret. “Talent is something you make bloom. Instinct is something you polish” BEAUTIFUL 💙
