2023-11-26 11:57:08 +0000 UTCPro tip: Something important with this show is to keep different perspectives (of characters) in mind as well as what constitutes "common sense/what's normally expected" when watching interactions. Especially with Subaru being the only one who seems to remember what is happening in all these instances jumping back in time. A lot of the time Subaru is operating on information and instances that only he is aware of, which you've seen confuses other characters.

Not many Ln series have solid writing like re:Zero (to be honest, good writing isn't the norm with LNs, but quite a few can help to kill some time). However, for the really good ones, reading the novel is the better option if you truly want all the details about the characters and the world. Plus, the series canon is the novel, so there's that. Anyway, if you're not a big reader, just go for the manga or wait for the anime but be aware that the manga may adapt some things sligthly different. 😅

Back when AMV's were a thing, I accidentally watched an AMV edit of the movie on YT, and it basically felt like I watched the whole thing lol. I have heard a lot of good things about it though, and it's kind of ironic that I, of all people, missed out on a Studio Madhouse movie 😂 However, I have seen the Haruhi TV series + movie years ago. I don't remember much about it, but I do remember enjoying the series overall (think I gave it a 7 on MAL). IMO, the series doesn't age well. If I were told to rewatch either Haruhi or Steins Gate, I'd watch SG any day, no offense. Haruhi is more supernatural based, while SG is pure sci-fi, and the intensity of the 2nd half of the show makes it one of my favorite shows. Thanks for the recommendations though! Although I don't use my MAL account that often, I'll leave a link to the shows I've seen here if you're interested. So, he didn't end up resetting this time. Also Ange, you mentioned that Re:ZERO came out 1 year after Steins;Gate, but that's incorrect. According to google/wiki: - SG anime came out in 2011. - The visual novel game [original medium] came out in 2009. - RZ (season 1) anime came out in 2016. - Web novel came out in 2012. - Light novel came out in 2014. That's also a big reason why SG is one of my favorite shows. It had a really slow start, but despite all its flaws, it's one of the first anime that handled time travel really well. I do agree with you guys that both shows have similar elements, though. Especially with the metacharacters. Subaru is as meta as it gets when it comes to his dialogue. Super aware of situation he is in. I completely forgot he breaks the 4th wall here lol, caught me off guard. Per usual, glad to see you guys are enjoying the show so far. Pleasantly surprised!

What happened was that Emilia helped his daughter instead of Subaru in this timeline and thats why she has the flower on her chest. By the time Subaru talked to him again Emilia had already helped the daughter so he was less hostile towards Subaru, that is broke just like the person that saved his daughter

Satella went to the loot house a total of 2 times, the first she was immediately killed after entering the house, so how could she do anything at all?? She was literally jumped and died. I dont understand what did you wanted her to do. And the second time was the actual cannon successful time that she had the chance to pop off. Its like me shooting you in the head out of nowhere in the street and asking you why didn't you dodge it and beat me up.... Angelo made no sense in this video....

Reingard just happened to be in that area afaik when subaru was being mugged, and BECAUSE reinhard interacted with him and talked about a loot house at the end of the hill, Reinhard subconsciously probably got impacted and veered off his original path and kept his eyes out for a girl with silver hair and white robes instead of whatever "day off" plans he had that day, and got him juuuuuuuuust close enough for Felt to run into him, and felt is fast if you remember, so she was running almost through the entire slums until she bumped into him. When reinhard was saying he was brought here, it wasn't subaru telling, but felt bumping into him and telling him that they need help, and we're not sure if she described emilia and subaru and so reinhard rushed in out of memory of those 2 descriptions, but probably just like a medical doctor or cop on a day off: a sense of drive for helping others.

The reason she doesn’t show up during Subaru’s 2nd reset, is because she heals the thugs Subaru beat up during that life. Some interesting things from the light novels that aren’t explicitly mentioned in the anime: - Black hair is extremely rare in this world, Subaru doesn’t see anyone in the capital with black hair at all (other than Elsa.) - Subaru mentions that gravity is lighter in this world than it was on Earth. Explains some of the stuff he is able to do.

Think a lot when something happens, but not Steins gate level - a lot, if that makes sense ahahah Also, it seems like everyone already clarified the broke kid thing and the healing thing, so I will just add a bit of worldbuilding that you seem to have missed in episode 1B. When Felt fights Elsa you see that she says "Blessing of the Wind" right before she starts zooming around and Elsa comments that she is "beloved by the world". So some people in this world seem to be born with special abilities that are different from magic and having one of them is apparently a big thing if it makes you "beloved by the world" Nothing exciting avout that still, but you will not question what the hell a blessing is the next time it gets shown!

One thing many miss is what happened in loop 2 when Subaru had no connection to the events outside of the Loot House. Emilia wouldn't have made it to the Loot House without Subaru's help at all, and the one major difference that happened in this loop is he asked Reinhard to "tell the beautiful silver haired girl to stay away from the Loot House" and well, Emilia is definitely stubborn enough to ignore that.
