Already some wild theories and fun discussions in the first episodes. This ride is about to be amazing and we'll see if Ange will be able to say Satella by the end of the show 🤣 Also, as you mentioned, Subaru is in basically all the scenes and that's deliberate. It feels like it's told in first-person POV. The original source is very internal monologue-heavy of Subaru. It's to help you empathize with Subaru and see his train of thought as he progresses through this mysterious new world and troubles. That's why you said he feels very open. Bascially, empathizing with these Re:Zero characters goes a long way :D

A few details I thought should be mentioned from these episodes: - At the end of 1b, the half-elf girl proclaims to Subaru that she didn't like being called by the name of the "Jealous Witch". - In the world of medieval fantasy, Elves typically exhibit pointy ears! That rule seemingly applies to this anime as well. - The insignia that Felt had was the same one she had in the first scene that we saw her! The dark lighting in the loot house likely made it look a little different. Very excited for this one! It's quite a dark series, but it has a lot of heart. The pay offs of this show are amazing!

Show's not as confusing as Steins, don't be afraid 😂. Isekai is about reincarnation yes but only if it teleports you into a different universe as well. The latter is far more important actually. Not a big fan of the genre TBH but this show is alright, even if I dropped it. My fav so far on this genre ought to be Tensei Shitara though. Surely not as deep as this but got a very proactive MC and good comedy which I enjoy. Not an expert on the topic though as I already said. Let's watch!

It was kinda funny watching you guys struggle with the pronunciation of Satella haha. I'm not aware of fans of this series being particular about the pronunciation, but I have typically heard it pronounced with an English pronunciation (Suh-tell-uh), not a Japanese one - even as as a Sub watcher. We all know who you are talking about, though. Either pronunciation is fine, imo.

Also, the "isekai" genre is about someone being transported to another world; it's just that being reincarnated is the go to method of transportation, usually by old reliable truck-kun, but there are some stories where the MC gets transported to the new world without dying. Whether that's what happened here, I'll let you theorize.

Im honestly OK with the delay. Not much into JJK so not much of a problem for me either way. But they're literslly being exploited to work for insane amount of hours while maintaining high quality for a meagre salary. These people must've entered into this industry for passion alone. Corrupt corporates like MAPPA kills these people without actually killing them. It's sad. Really

They'll definitely finish the season, but if this bad publicity continues, a delay might occur. Honestly, I'd be okay with that, and I wish they'd done it sooner (like, before the season even started). It's very rare in Japanese culture to openly criticize or complain about your work culture / job responsibilities / employer / coworkers, so the fact that it's gotten to this point leads me to believe people finally reached their breaking point. Delaying a show is costly, so I'm not surprised that the anime production committee is fighting tooth and nail to avoid that, but this bad publicity might force their hands. Which, again, I think they should do.
